Flew to Shenzhen in business class. Long haul MEL to CAN: fantastic seats, service, food and wine! Staff
were great, limited English but enough to get by! My only complaint is when booking online, with no
knowledge of China - i selected Melbourne to Shenzhen - the online booking made me go from MEL-CAN,
CAN-XMN, XMN-SZX - which I later learnt I could've caught a 2 hour cab to SZX from CAN rather than 6 hours
extra in 2 unnecessary flights. On the return, I had to catch a SZX- PVG flight to CAN for the MEL flight. The
flight was delayed which meant I would miss the Melbourne flight. The flight attendant in her limited English
realised the problem, got my bags back and got a taxi for me and negotiated a fair rate to Guangzhou. The
flight back had better food, service and wine - they offer the best value business class to China!

Melbourne-Guangzhou economy A330 and Guangzhou-Kathmandu on A319. No entertainment other than a
bizarre selection on a communal screen that you can't see, uncomfortable seats, and worst airline food I have
seen. Drink selection poor and they don't offer water regularly. Cleanliness in the toilets was not good. Staff
do not speak much English, and not good at keeping order in the cabin. Transit through Guangzhou stressful-
you need plenty of time to get through Customs. The only thing is that they are very punctual.

Flew Sydney-Paris via Ghangzhou. Planes old and cramped. Seat was broken and wouldn't sit upright. No
entertainment for first leg of flight apart from films in Chinese, not good for 12 hour flight. Flight attendants
had limited English skills. Food was ok although limited drinks. Toilets started to smell 30 minutes into flight
and were not cleaned throughout flight. Although cheaper than some carriers, what I saved in upfront costs I
spent in the airports while waiting on poor connecting flights.

Paris to Brisbane via Guangzhou Jan 2012. The Paris-CAN leg operated by an Air France 777 and was full, but
ran as expected with normal economy seats average in-seat entertainment. Family of 4 kids given a single
middle, rear row of 4 seats. We were then "upgraded" to premium economy for the very full leg to Brisbane.
CS owned A330 with duct tape on some of the cabin panels. Originally all seated separately but changed at
the gate to 2+2 middle seats. Seats are normal economy seats spaced slightly further from seats in front -
no other difference as far as I could tell, no extra recline. No in-seat entertainment and the 3 Asian movies
that were eventually displayed on the main cabin screens were mostly only partly shown. Cabin staff were
friendly and drinks were available throughout the flight. Don't expect too much.

YVR-CAN on Boeing 777-200ER. Out of date entertainment system which only has about 40 movies (most of
them in Chinese), and the seats are cramped. The food was typical, and the cabin crew sort of helpful.

Beijing-Shanghai Pudong on A380, changed my flight just to experience China Southern new A380. Flight on
time, very hard seat and uncomfortable, leg room for some seats is more spacious compared to China
Southern Airlines other aircrafts. Meal is ok, AVOD excellent, huge amount of movies.

Travelled to Guangzhou on more than 5 occasions. The staff can understand English but at a very basic level
but this can vary from flight to flight. Announcements by the pilot or pre-recordings are not very extensive
but are detailed enough for passengers to understand the situation. 3 out of 5 times the plane I was
travelling on A330 did not have personal entertainment screens on the back of seats, the food was also quite
bland but it was warm at least.

Unfortunately, the con's outweigh the pro's. Staff service, food and entertainment were all a disappointment.
Staff are inexperienced when dealing with customers - they are impatient and don't smile. Food was
disgusting and cold. There was limited entertainment - no television screens on the back of seats - everyone
had to share one and watch the channel that they put on. If you are looking for a good airline, I can
confidently say that China Southern Airlines is not the one.

BNE-CAN-CDG return, and they provided a better experience than supposedly more 'upmarket' Air France
codeshare partner. Be warned: there is no video system in economy, apart from a coach style screen miles
away from you with mediocre selections - this is a big drawback. Food was rather good for economy, though
alcohol selections are very limited. Toilets were so-so in terms of cleanliness, but the cabin was bright and
airy. You're also given a handy toiletries bag. Staff generally pleasant and efficient. Overall, an ok
experience.

Hanoi-Guangzhou-Beijing in Y class. I do not understand why China Southern encourage transit in
Guangzhou, but do not tag luggage through to the final destination. Check-in at Hanoi and Guangzhou were
fast. A319 Hanoi-Guangzhou and A321 Guangzhou-Beijing with good leg room. Both flights on time. Service
onboard pretty good, breakfast for Hanoi-Guangzhou and lunch from Guangzhou to Beijing. AVOD not
available, overhead TV programs ok but nothing exciting. China Southern really need to tag luggage to final
destinations and issue connecting boarding passes. These fake international (domestic) flights are simply not
working.

PER-CAN-PER December 2011. If China Southern is trying to encourage international travel to and from
Australia, I would suggest they checkout other airlines in the region to get a feel for what Service means.
Had to make several attempts just to get some water on my flights, food was terrible and not hot, and the
cabin staff cannot speak or understand English. No info from the flight deck! This was in premium economy - I
would hate to see what economy class is like. Entertainment - what entertainment?

Flew CZ a couple of times recently on Shanghai Hongqiao-Changsha, Kunming-Lijiang. Brand new A320 very
clean, all on time departure and arrival which is rare for Chinese domestic flight. Decent service with good-
quality food and drinks, China Southern improved their quality of service a lot since they joined Skyteam.

Amsterdam to Auckland via Beijing and Guangzhou. A 24 hrs flight with this airline gives me a good overall
impression of the company. Brand new A330s brings many advantages: quiet, clean, good entertainment
system (but bad selection of movies). Also quite a lot of leg room in Economy. However the food served was
really bad, the crew did not smiles with poor English skills. The ground facilities in China are not the best,
with lots of unnecessary immigration and security checks even though I was only transiting. Overall ok
because the planes on this route are new, but I have had better experiences on all the other airlines I have
used before from Europe to NZ.

SYD-CAN-SYD return in First on a brand new A330-300. Excellent product. 180 degree flat bed with nice pj's
and a bvlgari amenity kit. Turn down service is personal, with a nice thin mattress and an undercover. Large
pillows and comfortable duvet Food is so so for first class standards. IFE is good with some new hollywood
movies. Service personal and not interrupting. Flight were on time. Only downside is the lack of champagne
onboard. Overall, very good value for money in First. Would defiantly fly them again.

Sydney-Guangzhou-Sydney. A330-300 both legs. IFE was a bulkhead screen. They had two movies for the 9
hour trip but one of them didn't work, so they showed the one movie on a loop. Food was serviceable from
SYD. Almost inedible from CAN. Choice of a red or white wine, beer or juices. Nothing served cold. Seat
was reasonably comfortable with the extra legroom in PE. Other than to refill paper, toilets were not cleaned
the whole trip. Staff are pretty much Mandarin speaking only. They served food and then were not seen
again for 5 hours.

Very hit and miss. The leg from Amsterdam via Beijing to Guangzhou was relatively comfortable, newish
plane, good entertainment system with English movies included, fairly palatable food. The leg from
Guangzhou to Brisbane (and later, Sydney to Guangzhou) was pretty mediocre - no individual screens, poor
food. The actual flights are bearable - what lets this company down is the organisation. Both at Guangzhou
and Beijing, no-one had any idea of where to go, staff members spoke little English. Online check-in proved
impossible for us. Other than this, the actual flights aren't too bad and certain legs were actually much better
than expected.

Sydney to Taiyuan. After selecting CZ for the good connection, they cancelled the return domestic flight at
16.00 and rebooked me on 11.30 flight which left me waiting in CAN for more than 7 hours. Check-in in
Sydney and return was efficient and unproblematic, with bags checked through all the way to the final
destination. Long haul 777-200 and Airbus 330-300 had very uncomfortable seats (not insulated against
engine vibrations, no headrests). Substandard IFE - so bring your own laptop. Flight attendants professional,
food fair. Transfer and Immigration in CAN very fast, friendly and professional.

A tale of two airlines. Sydney-Guangzhou-Melbourne in Premium Economy. What a contrast between 2 flights.
Sydney-Guangzhou was an airbus with a 2-3-2 configuration. The seats were like the old Qantas business
class seats and were more than adequate. The food was hot and tasty and the staff friendly and courteous.
The IFE was very poor and the TV screens must have been the original 4 or 5 inch units which were blurred
and fuzzy. Fortunately we had our iPads to watch some movies on. The return flight was a totally different
story. The seats were 2-4-2 and were exactly the same as the economy seats behind. The only difference was
more leg room. There was no PTV and the IFE was on the fixed panels on the bulk heads. The food was
awful, the toilets were filthy and smelt. The stewardess assigned to our section was sullen and did not smile
once.

PEK-TAS-PEK new A330. Good seats, ok food. Unfortunately IFE didn't work and we were given portable DVD devices,
they had only bad movies on them. Inbound and outbound staff very different but in general okay service. Classic
China phenomenon, beer is warm. Flights were on time though.

Dhaka-Guangzhou-Vancouver. First leg on an older 737. I had very low expectations for this flight, and was
pleasantly surprised. The service was better than expected, and the food edible. The IFE was non-existent.
Second leg on a newer 777 in Premium Economy. Very comfortable seats, but flight attendants spoke little
English. The food was nothing special, and the IFE terrible. All seats were equipped with PTVs, but the
picture quality was poor and English selection limited to one movie.

KUL-Nanning via CAN. Almost brand new planes on all 4 sectors and very well maintained and clean. The flight
attendants did what they were supposed to do and nothing more. No drink runs for a flight of almost 4 hours and
after meals were served the flight attendants practically disappeared in the galley. Announcements were scarce and
incomprehensible most of the time.

Vancouver-Nepal-Vancouver. Flew on newer B777, seats comfortable, staff great, food was excellent - however, my
wife and I had TV probs and could not watch much of anything. Our return home we flew an older B777. Rather beat up
and the seat cushions were hard on the butt. TV worked though. The staff was great as was the food. The rules for
carry on luggage is a joke. We made sure we had the right size, weight and amount. Only to find out the other 99%
did what they wanted and got no hassle from the staff. One guy had 6 carryons, his wife 4 and the way they were
grunting and groaning, it may have weighed about 23kgs each.

I know China Southern may not have the best reputation, but have just flown to Amsterdam from Guangzhou, on a brand
new A330. In business class it was great, flat bed very comfortable and a great nights sleep. The evening meal was
excellent for and service was OK. If they guaranteed planes like this for long haul, I would use them all the
time.

SYD-CAN-ICN return on B777-200ER, A321, A330-300. Sydney-Guangzhou older and very tired looking B777,
cramped 10 abreast seating, cabin crew attentive but disinterested, catering adequate. Guangzhou-Incheon more
pleasant flight on A321 with wider seats but marginally smaller seat pitch. Incheon-Guangzhou cabin crew were
unable to finish announcing in English that landing would be delayed due to weather (had to ask another
passenger). Guangzhou-Sydney newer A330-300, comfortable seats, bad catering, filthiest lavatories I have seen.

SYD-CAN-HAK return on 3 aircrafts, A330-200, B737-800 and A330 300. Altogether the trip was quite pleasant.
Flight attendants kind and friendly, food quite tasty but the downfall was the entertainment. There was only 6 small
monitors above the whole cabin that played movies in a loop. On the return the entertainment was again the
same but the cabin was pretty empty. The connect at Guangzhou was quite a journey. Once we had arrived at
5am we had no one to assist us but one lady who had told us to sit and wait. We didn't know what to wait for so
we had to walk to the gate ourselves. It took approx 1 hr to get from one side to another.

AMS-PEK in Economy. Started the journey in Heathrow on an ageing Boeing with KLM. Had been told the China
Southern plane would be an old 777 but pleasantly surprised by a new airbus with personal IFE, a clean cabin and
toilets that smelt fresh throughout the flight. Got two normal economy seats over the wing and a nice smooth
flight. Husband is 6 ft 5 and no complaints from him. Food good especially the chicken dish, and a further savory
hot meal served for breakfast. Crew not particularly friendly but well turned out with a decent grasp of English.
Captain did a good briefing and inflight update. All in all if this plane is on offer in the future I'll definitely pick China
Southern.

were comfortable. AVOD in Economy class, there were 12 channels featuring 12 movies and TV shows, some
music but that was all. Picture quality was poor. Food was tasty, a choice of drinks. Very good personal hygiene
pack which crew distributed before take off. Ground service was OK.

From Brisbane we flew on a 777 series Boeing to Guangzhou. Seats were small and uncomfortable - 3x4x3,
however we had prepared ourselves for this. The food was typical airline food, but it wasn't bad. There was
practically no inflght service from the cabin crew after lunch, and only one movie in English however we were
prepared for this and therefore not disappointed. After a 7hr stop-over we were pleased to board a brand new
300 series Airbus (2x4x2). There was slightly more leg and seat room with more entertainment in English. The
cabin service and food was similar to the first leg. You definitely get what you pay for and CS is a great budget
airline.

Impressed with this airline. Sydney to Edinburgh return. Brand new A330's, on 2 of the legs a fully flat bed and on
the other 2 legs a bed with a slight incline, slightly less comfortable but managed to get a good sleep. Service was
very good although the language barrier was difficult at times. Food was good quality and plentiful. The
entertainment system was technically excellent though the selection of English speaking films were limited. On
arrival at Guangzhou I had a personal escort through the numerous customs and security barriers to the business
lounge (basic but comfortable). Was not expecting this level of service or quality considering the price.

LAX-CAN on B777. Allocated a window seat second row from last but I was amazed as I was not affected by the
noise in the lavatories and galley. Managed to get a good sleep all the way through CAN even though some
turbulence occurred throughout the journey. Amenity kid was provided, FA's were helpful and nice but seemed to
prefer communicating in Chinese. The bright side is that they understood my request in English. 1 meal and 1
breakfast provided were acceptable. Presence of FA's in the cabin was low; however, they did provide passengers
with food and drinks inside the galley when the lights were dimmed. PTV offered but not AVOD, selections were
very limited (only one English movie shown throughout the 14 hr journey). We arrived an hour early in CAN.

Jinan-Guiyang in First class on new A320, very clean and comfy cabin, seats firm but comfy. Only 4 pax in 8 seat
cabin. Service was excellent and meal amazing for a 2 hr flight. Offered drink before take off then another after
climb with nuts served on china plate. Meal included salad, soup, choice of 6 breads and cold meat platter for
starter then main meal with choice of 3 dishes, all served on china plates and quality cutlery. Then dessert and fruit
salad served. Only problem was check in at Jinan airport, because of previous day cancelled flights check in was
over run with pax and none observing the First Class check in area, waited more than 20 mins before I could find
someone to express me to the check in counter. Not really China Southern's fault though.

Horrible experience, Guangzhou-Los Angeles. Booked CZ from MNL-LAX with almost 6hr stopover in CAN. Flight
to Guangzhou (CAN) was ok, but CAN flight delayed excess of 3hrs for what they say is flight congestion. No
problems at CAN, aircraft available, runways clear, after 3 hrs about 74 new passengers arrived, to board for trip
to LAX on our plane. Not once did any CZ people offer drinks or meal tickets no management seen. On flight the
seating is extremely tight, uncomfortable, and my luck I was in very last row where the seat couldn't recline. Flight
crew was testy because of the angry passengers, most had missed connecting flights in LAX as I had to LAS. I had
booked with Delta with more than 3hrs between flights to get to LAS. Delta refused to any lesser charge for a
new ticket, ended paying twice the original fare to fly Sky Priority with another 8hr delay in LAX. Finally arrived in
Las Vegas 10 hrs later.

I made the mistake of taking CZ to Dubai from PEK return when I could have taken EK (Emirates). The A-330-200
was old, my seat pocket was torn and the metal bracket was sticking out, catching at times on my pants and
being generally annoying. I've gotten used to an indiv video entertainment system for long flights and instead I had
the pleasure of Chinese movies from the ceiling and bulkhead movie screens and no music entertainment at all for
the 8 hr flight. The food was terrible, some mystery meat with rice, served by FAs who practically threw the tray
and drinks at you. No beer/wine, not even Diet Coke. Forget ice. I've been on Air China and they serve the same
way. The English skills among the F/A was so poor that the announcements were unintelligible. I could go on to
describe the toilets but I don't think it's necessary.

Guangzhou-Los Angeles. I work in the Far East and travel twice a month to and from work. This time I let my
booking agent talk me into flying China Southern to get home from Guangzhou, China. I will never fly China
Southern again on long haul flights. The Economy Class section was extremely crowded and claustrophobic. The
air conditioning was not working properly and found it very uncomfortable throughout the entire 13 hr flight. I was
literally sweating buckets along with all the passengers around me. We had to wait at the gate after boarding for
over 1 hr with no reason given. The entertainment system was the choice of 2 movies that ran over and over
and 3-4 music channels that were not even worth listening to. The window pull down cover was damaged and
had a gash cut in it which allowed sunlight to stream through the whole flight. I usually fly EVA airlines or Cathay
Pacific to get back home, and I will definitely be using them again in the future. China Southern management
should have a look at how those airlines operate and take notes.

I took a vacation to Guangzhou CAN with China Southern. I choose them because it was $100
cheaper than Cathay Pacific and save me a bus ride into China from Hong Kong. B777 is older
than Cathay Pacific 777s without AC power plug on the seat for my laptop and missing the
individual movie system. The flight crew was better than 5 years ago. I called to change my
return ticket to a different day. This department do not handle tickets purchased online, we
can only change tickets purchased directly from us, we only take Chinese domestic credit cards
with UnionPay logo, then to find out they only take the cards from the big 4 banks. Took me
one week and a friends credit card to get my ticket changed with $200 penalty plus $300 for the
extra cost for new ticket. China Southern is improving, but the backend still needs much work!

Melbourne-Amsterdam via Guangzhou and Beijing return. B/C. All flights in A300 series, All aircraft looked almost
new. Seats between Oz & Guangzhou lay flat but on 10 degree incline, still very comfy, Between Guangzhou and
Amsterdam lay flat at 180 degrees, total comfort. Food excellent, a mixture of Chinese and western and when
you wanted it. Ask for any drink and it would be there within a minute. Flight attendants young, walked around
with a smile on their face and were eager to serve you at all times. Aircraft kept spotless through out the flights.
Guangzhou airport lounge basic but Ok. CZ use KLM lounge in Amsterdam which has to be the best lounge I have
seen anywhere in the world. One negative (not CZ Fault) is the 4 hr transit wait in Guangxhou having to go
through security and immigration. I believe later in 2011, CZ will have direct flights from Mel-Am one stop only.
This would be big improvement. All up: excellent professional airline and my choice for next international flight.

Guangzhou-Sydney. Travelled premium economy. Unlike Sydney they had a useless special check-in but
had a family with special problems holding up the desk. The adjacent Business check-in had no customers
but wouldn't check-in anyone. The two women just chatted and waved us away. Meanwhile our line grew longer
than economy. Inattentive cabin staff, very little English. The take-off delayed as couple who had been seated in
premium economy said they had paid business class. They lost the argument. The airline needs training in
customer service. The airline should go for improvements on service instead of opening new flights to NZ and
Perth etc. Terrible movies on little screen hanging from the ceiling. Food worse than on the Sydney leg.

LAX-CAN on a 777. No personal TV and no power outlet for laptop which both
Cathay Pacific offers. China Southern charges $200 change fee plus the
difference in the ticket price. I paid $975 for the round trip ticket and had
to add $500 to change the return date. Cathay Pacific only charges a flat $100
change fee. I had to call 4 different departments and took 4 days to change my
ticket. They only take non-Chinese domestic Union Pay credit cards in China.
People I talked to on the phone were very nice just they lack the authority and
had to transfer me around to get the job done. China Southern does not understand
efficiency and productivity.

SYD-CAN-AMS. SYD-CAN on a B777 a little cramped with the 3-4-3 configuration. Personal TV screens, but
only 2 English movies running continuously. The food wasn't very good. The 4 hour stop in CAN was a
nightmare. Rather than letting us through the international terminal, we were made to fill in applications
for a 24 hour visa and a landing card, then everyone's passport was taken away for 10-15 mins with no
communication. Our passports were returned one by one, which split up the travel group. Finally boarded an
A330, which had better leg room and 2-4-2 configuration. Personal touchsceen TV's with a much better selection
of movies and shows. Amsterdam security was a breeze, no paperwork and nice people. Next time I will avoid
CAN airport - Beijing was smooth enough.

PEK to AMS on A330. Comfy ride in a 2-4-2 configured half-full cabin supported by an efficient
and friendly crew. My best economy flight in a long time. They lose a point for offering Harry
Potter as the sole English Language movie. A generous drinks trolley resolved this minor
difficulty.

Beijing to Guangzhou on A330 in Business. The plane originated in AMS. Bussed by VIP bus to the
aircraft. Orders for meals collected before take off. My first choice was very bland but no
problem to have another one - this time very tasty. Service was excellent from the chief FA, a
bit dull from other FAs. AVOD on big screens with a lot of choice, Chinese and international.
Seats very comfy reclining to 180deg. Anyway, in my opinion that particular flight fully
represents China Southern's 4 stars, maybe even more.

service was good. there were offers of drink and hand held dvd's.

Guangzhou to Paris Business Class, we were seated separately in different rows and aisles which
we had to organise between ourselves as the staff had no idea. A number of couples were also
swapping seats to sit with partners. Seats flat-bed type, arranged 2x2x2. The cabin staff spoke
poor English on this leg and food was average.

Brisbane to Guanzhou in premium economy and for the price it was quite good. On the way over we
had same seats as economy and same food but extra leg room which was good, but same toilet as
economy. On the way home it was better with 2x3x2 configuration and separate cabin. But older
aircraft - basically the old business seats. Food is ok not fabulous - overall a much better
way to get to China than economy in other airlines for the same price.

Shanghai - Guangzhou on B777 in domestic First. Older plane. Before take off orders for meal
collected. Food plenty and quite tasty, with proper crockery. Selection of French wines.
Portable audio/video players as IFE but only Chinese or French movies in offer. Seats quite
comfy with a huge recline - not flat though. Crew attentive but could improve their English.
Bussed to terminal by VIP bus at arrival. Bags among first at arrival.

SYD-CAN-SIN in Premium Economy on A330/A321. Premium Economy SYD-CAN is essentially a joke. The
seats are identical in design and layout to the economy section, the only difference being
about 4 more inches of legroom. Inflight service was mediocre at best with inattentive flight
attendants, no in-seat video, and fairly lousy food. Upon check in I asked to be seated in the
bulkhead row of the Premium Economy section but was told that the first two rows were blocked
out for "crew rest" (that's 16 seats). Evidently China Southern values its employees far more
than its passengers. However, nothing could have prepared me for the absolute debacle that
occurred upon landing almost two hours late (for no good reason whatsoever) in CAN and missing
my connection to SIN. It took China Southern three hours to book us into a hotel for the night
(with almost no communication as to what was going on). The hotel was the worst I've ever
stayed at - sleeping at the airport would have been preferable. I was also informed upon check
in at the hotel that China Southern had booked me to share a room with another random
passenger! Seriously...and I'm a SkyTeam Elite Plus flyer (Delta Diamond Medallion). It's
shocking that this airline was a) allowed into the SkyTeam alliance in the first place and b)
somehow has managed a 4-star rating with Skytrax.

AMS-PEK-AMS. Have flown this sector once a month for the past 4 years. Previously operated
by older B777 but upgraded to a new A330-200 aircraft. New business class product a significant
improvement with flat bed seats, large IFE screens with a decent selection of movies and games
and Bvlgari branded amenity kits. Flights attendant service attitude was highly commendable.
Food and wine product offering also showed notable improvement from previous experience.
Priority check in, immigration clearance and luggage delivery at both AMS and PEK capped off
this flight very nicely.

Premium Economy with no personal TV, No special check in at Melbourne, no baggage priority in
Melbourne, same meals as economy and no visible special treatment at all. The only bonus was
the cabin was empty so we got extra space. No priority boarding, they said it was the same as
economy with a little leg room. In Changhou the ground staff were very good and also in
Shanghai with priority booking, but flight was just as bad, no English Immigration forms and
very little customer service - staff spoken English was not good enough. I did get priority
baggage in Shanghai but the inconsistency was confusing. Overall a little better than economy
but not much and they did not stop economy passengers taking ups spare seats in Premium
economy.

Cabin Flown: | Premium Economy |
Premium Economy Brisbane-Guangzhou return on Boeing 777 with several domestic sectors. It
seems that China Southern have many different variations with their seating and it is pot luck
whether you get value for money. B777 had a 2-3-2 configuration in Premium Economy with better
leg room and seat pitch that was worth the extra $350 we paid. Looking at economy it was a
3-4-3 configuration and looked very crowded. The food was OK without being anything special
and probably the same as economy but with a table cloth. We had separate staff that were
efficient, but English was poor. TVs were individual - 5" going over and 7" coming back.
There were 3 movies in English but the movies were not working on the way back and they seemed
unable to fix and unwilling to explain the problem. Mostly Chinese passengers so that is what
they cater to but knowing Chinese ingenuity this will gradually improve. I would certainly
use again assuming the price advantage remains. Booked directly online with China Southern
which was OK once you get used to it. They seem to be very flexible with carry on luggage as
many passengers had well over the number and weight of the advertised allowance. All flights
were on time. Guangzhou is not a great airport to stay long with no free Wifi.

My daughter and I travelled business class from Sydney to Guangzhou and return from Guangxu to
Auckland. Plus 4 internal economy sectors within China. The connections and baggage handling
was almost faultless, and all but one sector was on time -; an hour late departing from
Guangzhou to Yiwu. The cabin crew English could do with some improvement, but when you take
into account it is a Chinese airline catering primarily for mainland Chinese passengers (there
were no other Europeans in business class on the return journey), they did a pretty good job.
Best feature beside the brand new aircraft was the fare, which was over NZD$3,000 each cheaper
than Air New Zealand to Hong Kong or Shanghai. Keep it up China Southern Airlines and we will
be back.
