Heathrow to Glasgow Econ Flex. The flight was scheduled for 0955 however Glasgow airport
closed due to severe snow. Was told I would be put into the 1pm flight, however this then
became canceled as well. By 2 pm I was so tired and jetlagged, and with no guarantee of there
being any flights out that day, I decided to get a hotel for the night. BMI refused to pay
for that or provide meal vouchers as the problems were weather related and not their fault.
Headed landside and joined the huge queue. Was slightly annoyed that there was only 4 people
at the desk. Was told that they would put me on the 0955 flight again tomorrow so proceeded
to the hotel. At 0730 the next day called BMI who informed the flight was ok with no
cancellation. Arrived at airport an hour later to be told the flight had been canceled. Even
bigger queue at customer service and this time only 2 people manning it. Took nearly 2 hours
to reach the end of it. During this time BAA website is showing Glasgow as being open, as it
had from late afternoon on Monday, and most flights getting in ok. Eventually got to the end
of the queue and asked the girl, who was totally disinterested why only 2 people. Was told I
could be put on 5pm flight which again there were no assurances of. Since found out all
flights that day were cancelled. Decided to get train home so arranged to get my cases (which
were still in international baggage), this took over an hour again as they had to find someone
to escort me there. While I can understand the weather is not their fault, I feel that the
way they treated customers was more like what I would expect from Ryanair.

Glasgow - Heathrow Economy Flex. Arrived at airport and checked in with no issues. Was told
I could use the BMI lounge. Warm welcome in lounge, not much there though it was clean and
comfortable. Flight was full, making it a bit tight but as it is a short flight not too bad.
Breakfast served - sausage Panini and tea or coffee which was sufficient for this short
flight.

Decent flight with all the basics done well at a very low price (London to Moscow). Nothing
spectacular, but very good value for money.

Geneva - LHR. Swiss operated by BMI. Truly dreadful. Swiss lounge at Geneva ropey with very
little food. Flight delayed - I'd received a text but the lounge staff hadn't been told.
Called way too early to gate. No separate boarding for Business class. Captain said the
aircraft had been running late all day - from the first flight at 7am - it was now 9pm, so
clearly not enough spare time built into the schedule. I expect that from easy jet, not Swiss
/bmi. The worst flight supervisor ever - spoke incessantly to her colleague, slow meal
service, no offer of second drink despite mentioning I'd like a glass of wine with my meal.
Had to ask for a roll. No hot food - a change from the last time I flew this route. Purser
didn't bother to make an announcement when we landed. She was too busy telling a colleague how
many days off she'd get if we landed 16 minutes after their clocking off time. No jetty at LHR
T1. No steps at front of aircraft - so all those paying astronomical prices to get off the
plane speedily after a hard day's work had to wait for all the Y pax to disembark from the
rear of the plane. No apology from crew. Then Iris not working at Immigration, to add insult
to injury. Very poor on all levels. Not a Swiss operated service because they don't have the
aircraft - BMI give the impression they resent doing it. Will use BA next time.

LHR-VIE in Business. Arrived at 0430 so had to wait for the bmi boarding pass check to open,
then the Great British Lounge didn't open until 0510. Gate 76 boarding was a bit chaotic as no
priority for business pax. Good tasty English breakfast onboard with warm breads and
croissants and a very pleasant crew. The downside to the arrival is being parked at a remote
stand and having to be bussed to the terminal.

LHR-Amman in Economy. Baggage drop at LHR a waste of time, took same as a check in queue.
Discovered I had to pay £60 for my golf clubs, on top of very expensive ticket, and told this
was common with other airlines. Seats on way out were pre booked extra legroom, so decent,
and food okay. Food on return was disgusting. IFE a joke for such a long flight. To cap it
all, they managed to tear my golf bag and break one of my golf clubs. There is no customer
service on this, they palm you off to a third party insurer, but the latter claim they haven't
been sent the claim by bmi. So I have to follow up with bmi but discover you can't call bmi on
such issues, you have to write. Very strong feeling of being kicked into the long grass.
Probably okay for short haul in the way easyjet is, but I can't see a future for long haul low
cost airlines at a high price, unless you operate a monopoly/duopoly - which strangely enough,
appears to be the bmi model. Such a shame - it used to be a good airline.

Saturday evening flight from Vienna to LHR. Calm, relaxed boarding and smiling welcome on
board. A318 not full, clean and comfortable with good seat width and adequate legroom for a
two hour flight. No meal service in economy, although served with a light sandwich and
complimentary drinks - alcohol included. Cabin crew extremely polite and visible, working hard
and responding quickly to passengers requests.

BHD-LHR. Checked-in at the machines for the 1540 flight to find an hour delay reported, so I
went to the bar. This hour delay was put back an hour every so often. After two hours I was
quickly given a £5 voucher for use in Belfast City Airport, and the delay eventually showed as
2000. Thankfully this is a boring but good value airport to be stuck in. During this time
announcements were made for various passengers, presumably to sort out connections or be moved
to any spare seats on other BMI departures which were ongoing. Finally at 2000 we did get a
plane and get away. The crew explained they were not themselves delayed as they should have
been making a flight at this time anyway; fair enough, but reasonable empathy with passengers
delayed over 4.5 hours is not too much to expect. The delay was down to two technical faulty
aircraft and the pilot made a pious speech about customers understanding that safety came
first. The plane was ok in terms of comfort, though not too clean. This is also one of the
handful of routes on which nothing is served free - BMI should re-assess this and move back to
the levels of most European full service airlines. Crew fairly ambivalent and didn't know how
much the things they were selling cost. Overall an average flight experience with a well below
average delay, and I won't rush back. Convenient for London.

LHR-CAI-LHR. Outbound the departure was some two hours late, jeopardising LXR connection.
Inbound one of the four toilets was out of use from boarding; it was one of the aft toilets
and an announcement was made clearly requiring that all economy passengers (118 according to
cabin staff) should use the remaining aft toilet. In view of the limited numbers in the
forward cabin, health and hygiene considerations and the desirability of not overloading the
single aft toilet increasing the possibility of it too failing, suggest that this was not a
good decision.

We booked BMI and Singapore Airlines to fly to Singapore and onward to Perth. Just been told
BMI cancelled our morning flight from ABZ to Heathrow and they will deign to let us fly the
day before at no extra cost for the flight. They have messed up our hotel bookings and Air
Asia flights to Penang. We are receiving no compensation and are considerably out of pocket.
Do not use BMI from regional airports if you are making onward international flights.

LHR-VIE. Booked via Austrian Airlines to VIE as part of a trip to Macedonia. 6am departure
meant an early arrival at Heathrow. Had printed boarding passes so straight to fast bag drop
which never lives up to its name with any airline. People in front had problems with excess,
overweight baggage, children or groups trying to sit together. Eventually get to the desk and
have my printed out boarding passes replaced with proper ones! Not much open at Heathrow and
was worried about food onboard. At T1 the first shop you see open is a Costa and its likely to
have a long queue. Walk deeper into the terminal and there is a Pret that was also open with
no queue. Gate was miles away. Boarding was slightly later than anticipated but handled by
rows. Comfortable seating onboard. Once airborne there is a drink run and food service - a
hot egg, cheese and tomato panini which would rank as one of the most tasteless meals I've had
on an airline. Given that this was a 2 hr breakfast flight more could have been provided. I
remember flying BMI from LHR to AMS and they served a full hot breakfast in 45m of flying
time. Here there wasn't even a second drinks run. The crew seemed intent on clearing up before
most people had even finished their breakfast! Crew were fairly robotic. The service aspect
of flying seems to have departed this airline on its race to the bottom. Marginally better
than my first easyJet flight.

LHR-IKA. Online check-in easy in London (not available in Tehran). Small seat-pitch on A321
and inflight entertainment only provided on overhead screens on a 6-hour flight. Food was
tasty but small both ways. Return flight a disaster as, due to the load and amount of baggage,
the plane was forced to land in Amsterdam to be refuelled, delaying us by 2 hours. Overall, a
poor experience, not worth the huge price paid.

London to Baku. Normally good service but flight ruined by staff allowing people to drink own
alcohol. Man behind me sick all over young lady and he just laughed -. man opposite constantly
swearing (drunk again) even though young child just in front. Flight one of the most expensive
in the world and food poor - offered 'meat or vegetable'! As no real competition expensive and
second rate service.

Flew bmi with 2 infants from London to Belfast, after having traveled for more than 14 hours
from Singapore. Missed flight connection due to security delays then had to wait 9 hours at
London Heathrow. Onboard, my toddler (2yrs old) was agitated and did not want to sit in his
own seat - we asked for an extra child seat belt so that he could sit on our lap during take
off. Was refused one and then upon insistence, the stewardess threw one at him saying "here it
is - we don't have time to be mucking around with seat belts". In any other airline,
especially in Asia, you would never find such pure rudeness.

MAN-EDI. Simple snack and drink offered free, and FA was apologetic that she ran over my foot
with the trolley - no harm done. I like the seating, ERJ145 has a single seat on one side
and two on the other, leather seats.

A handful of recent flights between London Heathrow and Glasgow with BMI. The new premium
check-in area at LHR-T1 is a breeze to use, sadly the check-in kiosks are not. The refurbished
domestic lounge at Heathrow is comfortable and reasonably served for pre-flight refreshments.
Glasgow's older lounge less so, but it's functional enough. BMI staff generally friendly and helpful.

Manchester-London-Berlin. BMI's checked luggage policy is annoying, they won't
through-check your bags if you've booked separate tickets with the airline!
Nonetheless, checked baggage from Manchester arrived 15 minutes after flight
arrival in London, straight to the BMI bag drop and no problems from there on
(bags quickly offloaded upon arrival in Berlin, they were practically ready
after immigration!). Can't say much about the on-board service: for the
Manchester-London leg it was short so services were minimum - complimentary
sandwich and drink on London-Berlin leg, once again, service not amazing. This
is a good enough airline if you're looking to do business travel or if you're in
a hurry.

London - Amman. Late again - this route's punctuality is not good. Food barely
edible. In flight entertainment, one programme fits all drop-down screens are
just not acceptable. Cabin staff OK.
