LHR-AMS. Flight itself was fine, although you have to pay for food and drinks. FAs seemed
pretty good and efficient. Lost bag on the outward leg was a real inconvenience although the
baggage agent at Schipol was very good. Bag eventually showed up, much to my amazement.

DUB-LHR. First introduction to the airline couldn't be worse. Check-in staff at DUB was
without doubt the rudest in the world. The lady at the baggage drop desk should change her job
if she really hates people and her work so much. Bmi doesn't let you to check your baggage
through to a following Star Alliance flight if you have separate tickets. So beware of that.
Inflight was barely acceptable low-cost carrier style, even though you could see that the
staff would rather be somewhere elsewhere than serving their customers.

DUB-LHR C class. NO queue at check and was checked though to my final destination of Riyadh. a
little over on the baggage allowance but this was waived and appreciated, Lounge in Dublin
nothing special, and coffee machine was not working and nothing to eat. Flight on time, no
welcome drink. breakfast served in a box. Staff friendly enough, seats same as Y class with
little difference in pitch. Arrived on time LHR and left plenty of time for connection, bags
arrived in Riyadh. It is 3 star, but it is in no way BA club europe or Air France on the
European sectors. Would i pay the extra again in future - probably not.

LHR-BHD-LHR. On time departures and early arrivals which is excellent news for Heathrow. I
managed to bag seat 4a at online check-in - a business class seat which when I travelled was
not required in the business class cabin. Polite and attentive FAs. Both aircraft were new
A319. Absolute result at Heathrow - my bag had the last bag tag attached, yet it was first off!

LHR-DUB. Chose BMI over Aer Lingus & RyanAir after reading that they were the least rigid
about carry-on baggage weights (I had a 22lb camera backpack with $5000 in lenses that did not
want checked). Did not get hassled for being 0.8kg overweight checked luggage and no weighing
of my carry-on baggage. Great service, acceptable legroom in economy, and would fly BMI again.

London - Tel Aviv return Premium economy. For a five hour flight this was the perfect
compromise between cramped conditions in economy and expensive luxury of business class. Cabin
attendants were attentive without being over fussy. Decent food and drink service. IFE was
reasonable though I did notice at least one seat where it was not working. PAX was able to
move seat. Decent ground handling at Tel Aviv. Return similar though additional security at
Tel Aviv is to be expected. The Premium Economy cabin on the A330-200 is showing very early
signs of age but on the whole the package is good value for money and would use it again.

DUB-LHR return in economy. I have FF silver status with BD. Lounge in Dublin better than
waiting in the chaos of the terminal. Transfer onto UA in London okay with no problems bar the
nuisance for Republic of Ireland passengers having to enter the departures concourse and queue
for security again even with a valid boarding pass for the next flight. Meal deal as per
normal on board and served quickly. On return into LHR from the US - the transfer desk in T1
airside is great and agent allowed me to transfer onto the earlier flight to DUB thereby
shortening the layover in LHR. If you have not got your boarding pass yet just bring your
passport and confirmation sheet with you and proceed to departures via flight connections you
do not have to clear UK customs and re-enter from departures. Diamond club lounge for DUB
passengers is still the domestic one which is okay. FA on the return excellent and had a free
seat adjacent to me on the flight. I fly with BD to London all the time as they have no hidden
charges etc like Aer Lingus or Ryanair and the service is generally more acceptable with an
excellent online check-in and booking system.

Riyadh - Heathrow. Seat39k - worst flight ever. A box for the movie system was under the seat
in front so could not straighten both legs at once - this should be illegal! Other airlines
seem to have smaller boxes.

LHR-DAM-LHR. Both flights on time, with attentive staff. Food excellent with a very
drinkable red wine. Outbound no movies shown for 4.25 hr flight. Considering mainly
Syrian/Middle eastern customers on this flight, having at least one Arabic speaking
steward/ess would be useful. On return flight very uncomfortable seat with broken recliner
(on my entire row) but had movies and good food. Luggage failed to show up at Heathrow, but
bmi guaranteed it would be with me "within 24 hours at the latest" - 4 hours later it had been
couriered to my home.

BRU-LHR-BRU Premium Economy. Online checkin not convenient on a Mac. No fast lane access at
Brussels airport, 40 minutes to get through security. Lounge at Brussels airport nothing
special. Inflight service miserably poor! Quality of food and drinks is poor, cabin crew
initially not willing to accept a EUR 10,- note (with eyes rolling!) nor credit card for a
sandwich and drink. No inflight information from the captain - there could be at least a word
to the passengers. No middle seat being kept empty (despite Star Alliance privileges and
flight booked at 60%). Return flight boarding and take-off delayed significantly (the later
flight took off prior to the one I was on), no word about reasons. No miles credited 2.5 weeks
after journey. This airline is certainly not a good representative of StarAlliance, just
United is much worse.

LHR-CAI in Premium Economy. Checked in online, easy process. Deposited bag in premium check-in
area as bmi Gold card holder. Great facility, although a smile would have been nice. Baggage
priority tagged. Made my way to new bmi Number One lounge - in old BA domestic lounge space
(one floor only though). Very impressive lounge. Possibly on the small side - felt quite busy
although 7.30am on day 1 so not everyone probably knew it was there. Lounge was very far from
my distant Cairo gate but that's the luck of the draw. Priority boarding. Seats are previous
bmi transatlantic business class 2-2-2, very comfortable. Menus given out (incorrectly for
inbound food). Food was brunch. Water, juice, sparkling wine offered before take-off. Noise
cancelling headsets. Armrest TV but movies on loop. Friendly crew. Arrived 15 mins ahead of
schedule. Bags came off almost first.

EDI-LHR. Early morning flight leaving at 6:30am, very busy at Edinburgh. An unhappy bmi
representative guarded the business check-in line allowing me through with no smile or sign of
attention. Standing for half an hour in the business queue with just one passenger in front
seemed ludicrous. If the business desk is still being utilised for prolonged periods, direct
us somewhere else! Eventually redirected to another desk where surly service ensued. Made my
way straight to gate 3 with no time for a rest in the bmi lounge. This wasn't going well.
Finally arrived at the gate where I handed my boarding pass and then barked at like a dog to
hand over some overweight luggage slip in addition. I was now livid at bmi by this point!
Greeted by a courteous purser, the onboard experience was better with comparatively happier
cabin crew and more attentive service. Nevertheless, everything is plastic - the cutlery, meal
presentation - this is like a long-haul economy product in short-haul business class. The
breakfast was quite tasty although the box in which the orange juice, tissues, salt etc were
presented is outdated. Flew Club Europe hours later which was miles better in comparison
simply for presenting one with a metal knife and fork! The bmi v BA debate is sorted in my
mind. They cannot continue like this. They've lost my regular custom until they change. I
wonder how many more people will soon follow.
