I cannot understand the hype for this airline which is mediocre. On several flights HKT to BKK, I have experienced delays. Their lounge at HKT is a joke - far too small and difficult to get a seat. In previous years they served a nice hot Thai meal.

I like this little airline and found the in-flight catering on short haul flights better than anything in Australia. After I boarded one flight I found I'd left some shopping in a coffee shop in the terminal (admittedly not Bangkok) and the crew managed to get it retrieved it for me and brought it out to the aircraft.

Bankok - Koh Samui economy. Flight departed on time, plane spotless and comfortable. The staff were attentive, but not overly so, and we landed early. The food was just a roll and a drink, but at least it was complimentary and they didn't try to charge the earth for it. All in all, a lovely little airline.

BKK-USM Business Class. Fast efficient check in. Access to a sumptuous lounge at BKK which we had to ourselves most of the time. Priority embarkation onto a brand new looking plane. Excellent on board service including a full meal on a 1 hour flight. Priority disembarkation and escorted to the luggage carousel where we received our luggage within a minute. Well worth the modest extra in price, couldn't fault anything.

BKK-USM return in business class. They serve you a full meal on an 50 minute flight. The staff has are very attentive. On our flight out of USM they had to rebook us to the next flight due to some technical problems with the aircraft. As we had a connection flight from BKK to Europe it was sure that we would get short on time. As soon as our plane sat on the gate in BKK we have been picked up by a stewardess who led us all the way through the airport to the GF Check-in counter. In the meantime some other staff from Bangkok Airways brought our bags to this counter. I never experienced such service before. Will fly them again.

One way Trat to Bangkok. The flight has been very short, only 45 minutes but the overall experience has been good; confortable seats, friendly crew, good service, plane on time (Atr-72). Last thing to underline is the price - great!

REP-BKK economy class. Excellent service for a 40min flight. Its surprising that in such a short flight they served a complete meal. Smiling and helpful flight attendants. Flight on time and good price.

Bangkok to Chaing Mai in new single class A319, only downside is that their seat pitch is not as wide as TG. Other things are great, Economy class lounge in BKK airport is bright and airy, fully stocked with tasty snack, drinks, sofa, reading materials and internet connection. Felt as if being in Business Class lounge. VIP treatment at check in counter as always. I inquire if my favourite seat is still available and got it even if that cause some trouble for staff herself (did not pressure her anyhow). Light breakfast on board is tasty, and baggage claim is quick with staff sorting all items at carousel to avoid damage as usual.

Hiroshima-BKK-Hiroshima in business class. Fantastic experience from start to finish. New A319. At BKK, met at the door by a representative of the airline, business class passengers have a separate van for transportation to the terminal, not the big busses. Was escorted through immigration and led to my connecting flight which was on another airline. On my return flight to Japan was escorted again after check-in. The lounge in BKK is wonderful with a good selection of food, beverages and reading material. There is a shower and a relaxation room as well. In flight service on both legs was excellent. Personal videos pre-loaded with movies, tv and music are available. I look forward to flying with them again.

Bangkok-Koh Samui Business Class. The first time I have travelled this airline and was surprised with the pre-flight service in the business class lounge, in-flight service and post-flight service. The flying time was only 45 minutes and served a full breakfast with Singha beer. The food was exceptional! Airbus we flew was new. Once we arrived at Koh Samui Airport we were greeted by the ground crew and escorted into the terminal. The ground staff promptly brought a trolley over and waited with us for our bags to arrive. They were out in minutes. Airlines around the world should model their service standards around Bangkok Airways, I believe that they have the right formula.

Just found this site. Flew from Bangkok to Kho Samui andreturn 12 months ago. We were booking in at Bangkok and joined the back of the queue. A supervisor noted my wife was using a walking stick and she took us out of the queue, opened a check in desk for us then got a wheel chair for my wife. The flights were excellent and Kho Samui airport is a revElation. If only all airports were the same.

Phuket-Koh Samui early morning flight on ATR 72 aircraft. Check-in staff efficient with good checked baggage allowance (20kg) given smaller aircraft. Make sure you check out the Bangkok Air courtesy lounge at Phuket airport, it is free for all passengers and includes tea/coffee/juice/water dispenser, internet terminals, TV and daily newspapers. Flight itself a bit rocky in row 2 and aircraft showing its age. Tiny sandwich with cordial served - pretty lame but then again only a 50 min flight and low cost carriers give you nothing. Koh Samui airport is owned by the carrier and so baggage was on the carosel by the time we got there - great turnaround.

Just used the new Bangkok Airways flight to Macau. Airline leased the aircraft from Druk Air (A319) which was very comfortable with wider than average seats in economy. Usual high standards of food and service one expects from this carrier. No entertainment on the flight but with full meal and drinks service and a nap, didnt actually miss it and the time passed quickly. The lounge at Bangkok airport is a nice touch but they have no facilities for economy passengers at Macau.

BKK-USM-BKK. There was no check in queue at all (however, was at BKK at 4.30am so perhaps not surprising!). The lounge (there is a lounge for economy passengers opposite the gate) was fantastic. High speed internet and wi-fi access. Plenty of drinks and food. Complimentary magazines and info desk for advice on onward connections and hotels! Boarding fast and flight only 2/3 full. Service was very polite and all crew could speak fluent English. Food good. Samui airport amazing. Return check-in prompt and very polite. again, the complimentary food, drink and internet before boarding was great. Crew great again. Food good onboard with inflight entertainment. Wipes and towels offered; fantastic when you think this is a 50 minute flight. Luggage arrived quickly at BKK. Bangkok Airways are expensive. However, they are the only airline that fly directly to Samui from BKK and although I'm on a tight budget I could not help feel that it was money well spent.

LPQ-BKK. Check-in was swift and friendly at the otherwise depressing LPQ Airport, knowledge and English of check-in staff amazing for Laos standards. Complimentary use of lounge with internet, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Flight date was changed free of charge online 72 hours prior to departure - very impressive considering the great fare value. ATR 72 was clean and comfortable despite being knocked around easily by any turbulence. I can't fault PG - they are going from strength to strength, looking forward to them extending their route network further.

This year for the 6th time I have flown with this airline. And it's is absolutely magnificent. The combination of the ticket price, staff (on ground as well as in the cabin) and the excellent service provided by this regional airline is fantastic. And, on board the cabin is very clean and well maintained. These days they do not only fly within the Thailand area but also to Hong Kong, Maleives and Japan for a very reasonable price. So it is worth checking out when in Bangkok and wanting to fly further. On all airports I have been when flying with them there was a very good lounge on airport, with free internet, drinks, papers, etc. Then on board, again they serve tasty food and drinks.

Bangkok to Seam Reap then down to Phuket via Bangkok. Initially was a bit concerned at the check in because we had to pay additional for our baggage allowance, ie we were treated as domestic passengers, which is not practical when you are international travellers you are automatically overweight. I did argue this point and the Customers Service manager met me half way, which was a small achievement, although other airlines, in similar situations, I have previously travelled with allowed the additional weight for international passengers. Bangkok Airways seems to be the furthest airline in the Suvarnabhumi terminal, so be prepared for a long hike to board your flight, at the time two flights seem to be boarding at the same time there seem to be some confusion between passengers on my bus from the terminal who were not going to Cambodia but southern Thailand. Onboard the flight was pleasant, cabin crew were friendly and helpful and food was OK. My only concern was space onboard was tight in the overhead lockers. On the flight to Seam Reap we had separate seats, for some reason although only one seat in front of each other. The way back from Cambodia to Phuket via Bangkok, we did not have to pay additional baggage allowance as we were treated as international and not domestic passenger. The change over at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport again involved a great deal of walking, there were eight of us who were flying this route whilst the majority of passengers were departing at Bangkok. The customer service person was making these quick announcements to us that only two of the people up front could make out, as we struggled to keep up with her, we found that some of the Bangkok departing passengers had tagged onto our group wrongly. On the way back from Phuket to Bangkok again we had no problems with the baggage allowance despite this being a domestic flight. I would fly Bangkok Air again, but would be careful of the baggage allowance, especially the Bangkok - Seam Reap, Cambodia route which is obviously an international flight as these are two separate countries. I did like the ease of booking this flight on-line.

An excellent airline - not the cheapest of options but the best. The lounge at Bangkok is excellent. Flew to Samui and then back to Pattaya. Only downside to later flights - it was the morning after the full moon and quite a few revellers onboard, some of whom were not fit to fly and should have been denied boarding.
