RGN-BKK and impressed by their courtesy towards their passengers. Our
flight was late 2hrs due to late arrival out of BKK. We were immediately
served hot food in Yangon Airport in their passenger lounge including
soft drinks and tea/coffee. The ground staff kept us informed and so I
spent a good extra time at the airport. Check-in and boarding was
professional, the service on board the best for a long time on a short
distance flight. One of the best regional carriers I have travelled
with.

Recently travelled HKT-BKK on a PG 717. Checkin was easy with staff
assisting people in line to label and secure their bags. They gave out
free bag locks for all checked luggage. Assigned seats at the front of
the aircraft and I was allowed to exceed my checkin allowance by a
sizeable amount which was appreciated. Passenger lounge made for a nice
escape from the usual poor passenger waiting areas at Phuket airport.
Drinks, snacks, newspapers and internet access was available free of
charge. There were however a large number of children in the lounge who
occupied the internet for most of the time and the staff weren't
enforcing the 10 minute limit. Onboard all went well. Seats on the 717
are a little cramped but the excellent meal service made up for this.
Crew were polite and professional. Overall an excellent flight onboard
an excellent airline.

Bangkok to Koh Samui and return. Wow, extremely impressed! Bangkok
Airways is a class act through and through. From the free refreshments
at the departure gate to the warm and friendly service throughout the
flight to the little trinkets for the kids, this is like flying during
the "golden era." The only hitch, at the wonderfully "primitive" Samui
airport, the open grass hut terminal is located practically next to the
runway, so you get to witness up close a Boeing 717 at full throttle
during a takeoff run. Bring your earplugs!

Bangkok-Chiangmai. The aircraft used was a propellered ATR, which was
cramped, old and slow. Flight was only one-quarter full. Many passengers
were shocked and amused at seeing the plane as we were reaching the
aircraft on a taxiway bus. There were two cabin crew, one very warm
young steward dressed in a smart T-shirt, and a stewardess who looked
bored all the time. We were served a small snack in a box for this
lunch-time flight. No refills. The best part of the 'journey' was the
lounge we were all put in before the flight, where there were newspapers
and limited snacks and drinks, all for free. My main complaint would be
the terrible aircraft used on this route.

REP-BKK. A very short flight, with very few passengers but an incredible
level of service. 5 FA's on a Boeing 717, hot towels and newspapers
offered before take off, after take off a light breakfast, juices and
coffee. As someone use to taking domestic flights in the US I am always
astonished at the different approach to customer service in Asia.
Lessons to be learned!

Bangkok to Samui return and most impressed with the service and
attention to detail. Check in was efficient and friendly, snacks served
in the gate area were greatly appreciated , aircraft cabin was clean and
bright and Flight Attendants were very friendly , courteous and
efficient during the meal service which was achieved on the 45 minute
flight. This is good old fashioned style service we never see on other
carriers these days. Bangkok Airways makes you feel welcome in every
way. A pleasure to fly them.

Phuket-Samui Economy. It is really a short flight, but they manage to
serve a meal in that time! Check-in and cabin crew are very friendly,
food is good and enough. I love the fancy paintings on their planes! The
idea is as nice as the whole airline and their unbeatable price -
performance ratio.

BKK-Siem Reap-Phnom Penh-BKK. ATR72 to Siem Reap with full load, on
time and good service. Siem Reap to Phnom Penh on Airbus 320, this
flight carries on through to Hong Kong. 75% full, short 40 minute flight
but still served a cold meal, on time arrival. Phnom Penh to Bangkok, 09
May, PG925 due to depart at 1625. Flight cancelled the week before but
PG didnt notify all 4 passengers ! Had to wait until the PG927, which
was late, departing at 2100. This service was operated on a 717, which
offers the least legroom of all PG aircraft type. Not much fun spending
7 hours in Phnom Penh airport ! PG did provide free bar and meal service
but experience could of been avoided if PG had advised us.

Used this Airline twice over the past 6 weeks, Bangkok to Trat and Siem
Reap to Bangkok, fantastic, good service and on time, nice in flight
food, newspapers etc, will be interesting to see what effect the new
alliance with Thai will have on some of the routes.

fares, excellent cabin staff, punctual performance. And everyone was so
helpful.

BKK-Phuket-BKK, return on 19/03/06. First time I get this airline and
what a nice surprise. Both lounges in BKK and Phuket are very nice with
friendly staff. Both flights on time. Service on board simply amazing
comparing with european carriers ! Refreshing towel and newspapers
offered before take off and a very good meal served on this 1 hour
flight. Crew simply fantastic, very helpful and you can see that they
like their job. Will fly Bangkok airways again without hesitation !

Bangkok to Luang Prabang. Bangkok Airways is still a good airline. But
as they now stretch their route net they should think about seating in
their aircraft.. It is no problem to sit cramped from Bangkok to Samui.
But they use the same aircraft (ATR 72) for longer flights and this is
not comfortable enough. For my next flight to Luang Prabang I will
choose Thai Airways.

Getting to be a regular traveller BKK-USM-BKK and yet to be
disappointed. The experience always start at the BKK lounge - free
drinks, snacks and internet - followed by the 'magical mystery tour'
coach to the 'abstract livery' of the aircraft before more well
appointed and attentive inflight attendants serving snacks. And then
there is Samui airport! Any drawbacks, well the seats on the 717 are
somewhat cramped but its only for 1hour 10 mins, not too long to suffer
is it. Can't wait to go again.

BKK-Trat (for Koh Chang) and return. At Bangkok airport check in staff
are friendly and try to accommOdate your seat request. Their departure
lounge offerS free coffee, tea or soft drinks, along with little snacks.
There is also a free internet service, providing you are lucky enough to
get your hands on a computer. Considering this was only a 40min flight
the FA s presented a refreshment towel and handed out newspapers. There
was a lunch box handed out, which was very trendy looking on the outside
and contained a meat puff pastry, small sandwich, salad, coconut cake,
water and orange juice. This was followed by tea and coffee. Alcohol you
had to pay for. This is more than what most airlines offer for a flight
covering several hours. Trat airport is owned by Bangkok airlines and is
relatively new. It is built similiar to Koh Samui s airport. Thatched
roof and no walls. It still has to be landscaped with the beautiful
flowers and bushes that greet you at Samui but that will happen in due
time. You are given the traditional wai (greeting) by four Thai women
upon disembarking from the aircraft and then taken to the terminal by a
little colourful "train".For someone arriving in Thailand for the first
time it gives you the feeling that you have arrived in Nirvana!
A great airline with a big future. I just hope they don't lose that
special touch.

Have flown this airline several times now, to various domestic
destinations on vacation, and have never experienced any problems
whatsoever. Check in is generally speedy, and their courtesy corners in
departure lounges are a nice touch. Hot beverages, juices, fruit,
pastries, and even fresh popcorn. Good reading material too, also free
internet access and phone calls within Thailand. Great for reconfirming
homeward flight reservations! Koh Samui airport is really something! We
couldn't stop smiling. It was so nice compared to usual concrete
structures!!! Staff are well groomed, polite and helpful, both on ground
and aboard aircraft. We have often arrived at BKK domestic terminal
earlier than perhaps we should have done, and asked at check in if we
may travel on the next flight out. There always seems to be hourly
departures to destination. If there's been seats, its never been a
problem. Sure there is an odd delay at times, we think they add two
flights together when pax numbers are low. A good airline all round,
with decent service. We will continue to fly with them.

3 February 2006
Bangkok to Ko Samui return, previously have used this airline to Siem
Reap from Bangkok. The major advantage on the Ko Samui route is the very
frequent scheduling of flights, which was a god send as we were late
arriving in Bangkok from London and missed our flight. The ATR-72 for
the outbound flight was about 25% full and the seats are reasonably
comfortable. The return flight on a Boeing 717 was extremely cramped and
full, I don't think I would want to sit in seats with this configuration
for longer than 45 minutes. Though I can understand the basis for the
effusive praise this airline receives from other passengers, all things
being equal I would prefer a J class seat on Thai. I can attest to the
reliability of the system for onward checking of baggage at Ko Samui:
with some trepidation I checked my bags through to Sydney. They arrived
in Sydney with priority labels attached by someone during the transfer
at Bangkok.

Flew with Bangkok Airways from BKK to Siem Reap. What a gem of an
airline! Superb Service on this very short flight. Some of the bigger
airlines should take note - this is how it should be done ! In fact,
bigger airlines keep offering your usual poor service etc and let this
airline prosper!!

We recently booked 3 sectors using Bangkok Airways Air Pass, which now
includes Lao Airlines. When we checked in for the first flight at Phnom
Penh, they advised us that there would be a 1 hour delay, which would
make connection times tight. The delay was actually a bit less than an
hour - we were seated in the front row of the A320 so we would be first
off the plane, and we were met and escorted in a private mini-bus and an
electric cart within the terminal to our connecting Lao Airlines flight
with 30 minutes to spare. The service was seamless, thoughtful and
friendly - I was very impressed. Later we caught an ATR72 from Luang
Prabang to Bangkok. This flight was delayed by about 30 minutes, and
while we did not have a connecting flight, we saw other passengers with
connecting flights receiving the same personal service. Both flights
were very smooth, the aircraft immaculate (and beautifully presented),
and the in-flight catering of a high standard. At some airports
including Phnom Penh, there is a passenger lounge with free snacks and
internet, open to all BKK Air passengers - a nice touch. This is a great
regional airline, with standards by which I will judge other airlines
large and small from now on.

Chiang Mai to Sukhothai, Sukhothai to Bangkok, Bangkok - Samui (return).
The word I have for this airline is "unique." The planes are in good
condition and the cabin crew are immaculately presented and very polite
and pleasant. Bangkok Airways have built their own airports at Sukhothai
and Samui. The one in Sukhothai is actually a beautiful place - a
collection of Thai-roofed buildings set amongst landscaped gardens with
water features. From a distance, you may think it was a resort. The
airport in Samui has similar features - attractive open plan wooden
buildings set in pleasant surroundings. It appeared that having some of
their own airports made the baggage handling process a lot quicker - it
was very quick to check-in and retrieve bags after the flight. At
whichever airport they operate from, Bangkok Airways provide a free
lounge - there are refreshments and free internet access. I found the
booking experience quite refreshing. Travelling with my laptop, I was
often booking flights at very short notice. It never appeared that the
European method of pricing - cheap in advance, expensive at short notice
- was being used. It all endeared me to the airline and made them my
first choice of airline over there. Overall, I am very impressed with
this airline and I would like to see their business model succeed.

Yangon - Bangkok, 26 November. Arrangements at Mingalardon were chaotic. Bangkok Airways staff
showed little concern for the problems passengers were having. Took one hour and ten minutes to pay
the $10 departure tax. Since putting a larger aircraft on the service nothing has been done to cope
with the extra numbers. While this is also the resposibility of the airport authorities, Bangkok
Airways must shoulder their share of the blame. No information forthcoming on, albeit short, delay
to the flight. Cabin safety procedures were poor and it would help if the airline would enforce its
own carry on baggage limits.

Bangkok Airways between BKK and Siem Reap, Cambodia (Angkor Wat) -
outbound on ATR, return on B-717. Both flights on-time, hassle-free
experiences, great cabin service (including perfect announcements in
French and Japanese, which were a nice touch for the international
tourists onboard) and a good-sized snack box - plus a coffee/tea
service. In BKK, I had time to relax in their private lounge (open to
ALL of their passengers) and enjoy a few drinks and snacks, plus free
internet - along with a great view of the airport. Very classy airline,
staff are immaculately dressed, their marketing and visual image is
creative and upscale and supports their "boutique" image and high-end
product offering. Although there is just one class of service, it's
certainly way above economy class offered by their competitors.
Can't wait for them to provide high levels of service when they expand
internationally, now that they announced plans to buy long-haul
aircraft. It will give their competitors a run for their money!

Having just travelled with Bangkok Airways I wanted to congratulate the airline on such things as,
it's great value for money tickets, refreshing flexibility when I needed to change two flights on
the telephone that I had booked via the internet, the complimentary food and drinks, free internet access, etc, etc.
Staff were at all times very helpful and pleasant, especially those at Trat airport.

Bangkok - Koh Samui and return November '05. Service on the ground and
in the air was very good - once we found the downstairs check-in at BKK
domestic terminal! On time flights both ways, and the ATR outbound and
B717 inbound were both comfortable for the short flight time. We loved
Koh Samui airport - if only they could all be like that. Not sure
however about the ''Asia's favourite boutique airline'' bit -
unnecessary hype for what is a sound and friendly operation?

I have flown Bangkok Airways many times over the last few years, mainly
on Phnom Penh -Bangkok route, and found them excellent value for money.
I was pleased when the B717 was replaced by the Airbus 320 as there is
more room all round. Not worth paying the extra for Thai Air. FAs always
pleasant and food generally good. Delays are mostly caused by Bangkok
Airport rather than the airline (roll on new airport in 2006), which is
only minutely better than the dreadful Heathrow. Great departure lounge
in Phnom Penh. Lounge available to all in Bangkok (I think). Samui
airport a delight, although disorganised.

Fantastic!! Flew from BKK to Yangon in Myanmar and back - then a no fuss jump to the next flight to
Samui upon my arrival back into BKK. Couldn't fault it, I'm an uneasy flyer and I have to say that I
thoroughly enjoyed my experience of 4 flights with Bangkok Airways. Changed flight dates twice with
absolutely no fuss and no charge. Looking forward to flying with Bangkok again.

I recently flew BKK to Koh Samui round trip and found Bangkok Airways to
be probably the best airline I've flown with. I can't believe the speed
and efficiency of the cabin crew, I was handed a refreshing towel before
take off which was a nice touch after being in the terminal for 3 hours.
Once airborne the crew served up lovely meals both to Samui and back to
Bangkok, the flight back to Bangkok only took 40 minutes but the service
was still excellent with everything cleared ready for landing in plenty
of time!! I think they can most deservedly call themselves Asia’s
Boutique Airline and if airlines such as Monarch, Easyjet and the like
would like some pointers then they should visit one of Bangkok Airways
training days they would learn a great deal!!

I have always found Bangkok Airways to be extremely efficient and
courteous whenever I have flown to
and from Cambodia. For our trip this December, I needed to change the
name on the booking for our
adopted daughter and they did this by return e-mail - no fuss, no cost.
In contrast, British
Airways took 6 weeks, more than 10 telephone calls of more than 30
minutes and wanted to charge me
£25 for the privilege !! After this, they managed to cancel my
daughter's pre-booked seat and meal
preference, which took another 4 calls to rectify.

U-Tapao-Phuket return. Just to reiterate previous comments about tasty
meal being served on short flight. Pleasant and friendly crew. Was
surprised to find a complimentary tea/coffee juice snack bar at both U-
Tapao and Phuket - this was a nice touch long gone by other airlines.
They deserve to be called 'Asia's boutique airline'.

BKK-Samui-BKK in August/September. I hope that this wonderful airline
will not grow too fast. They are very efficient and on several flights
I have not made any bad experience. On our flight back from Samui to
Bangkok they offered us to check through our baggage to our final
destination HAM via Istanbul. When you see the check-in facilities in
Samui you would not expect that it could work, but it did fantastic
(like everything at this airline).

Bkk to Siem Reap. We had no problems at all and that was with a group of
ten. We even got them through the internet. We had a 3 hour layover and
the courtesy lounge was wonderful. We were able to tell our loved ones
that we had arrived from Los Angeles. Though I thought the plane
would be a little bigger than it was it was quite comfortable. Plus to
get a meal was very nice since it was only an hour flight.

Flew this summer with Bangkok Airways on a round trip, BKK- Koh Samui.
Absolutely fantastic! I flew to BKK with Emirates, and lets just say,
'Asia's boutique airline' could teach them a thing or two!!! Leg room
was ample, food delicious and cabin crew attentive and full of cheer.
boarding and deplaning is extremely quick! plus the meal service is
extraordinarily efficient considering the limited amount of time
available to the flight attendants- the flight being only 40 minutes.
Koh Samui airport is a wonderful place, unique and welcoming, although
check-in is more like organised chaos and I don't think security is one
of the highest priorities! landing and departing amongst the palm trees,
relaxed and with a complimentary, refreshing face towel is how I wish
every flight could be!

BKK-USM and back this summer. What an excellent airline!
Although I booked my tickets long before via internet, I encountered no problem at
the counter in Bangkok. The courtesy lounge was a delight after a 10 hours flight
from Istanbul. The trips were smooth and the Samui airport was a jewel (though I
don't think it enjoys high security rankings). I chose a vegetarian meal with my
early reservation and I was very please to get it on both flights. These people care
a lot. I'd travel all around Asia just to fly with them.

BKK-USM-BKK. Great service and lovely aircraft. The airport in Samui is refreshingly different
and Bangkok airways has really done well to build Samui as a destination. Excellent website -
and good fare deals on their site - including their early morning which is at a deep discount.
Good food - however, one word of caution -if u are vegetarian, dont order their Hindu meal since
mine came with chicken ! My wife who ordered a normal meal got rolls both times so we swapped !

Bangkok Airways really like to inform you that you're travelling 'Asia's boutique airline'. We must
have heard that phrase a million times as we sat in mosquito-infested Ko Samui airport as our flight
to Bangkok was delayed. However, I feel 'boutique' is just a euphamism for 'we have sole control
over this route but we would like you to think that there's some sort of glamour in airline
monopoly'. After reading such positive reviews on Skytrax, our flight left me extremely disappointed
with this airline. Flight delayed, staff abrupt, mechanical and at times did not appear in control
of the situation. I would expect 'Asia's boutique airline' would 'treat' its passengers to an
aerobridge, especially when landing in pouring rain. Instead, we were bused to the terminal. Wet
from the rain, we found ourselves delayed (yet again) in an icy cold bus, while staff scuttled
around looking for a passenger. After disappearing, they returned with the same request. No one
admitted to being this person. Another disappearance, then returned to see our boarding passes. This
search also proved fruitless. Finally, we were bused to the terminal, over one hour after when we
should have arrived (it was past midnight local time). The icing on the cake-- I collected my
suitcase and found that it had been severely damaged. Would I fly 'Asia's boutique airline' again?
No way. I have had better service and experiences from the most budget of budget airlines.

BKK - USM, flight is perfect for a short flight. Flight on time, comfortable flight, staff very

great. USM airport is superb, was off plane and had my luggage within 20 mins. return flight was
just as good.

A brilliant airline from Bangkok to Hoi Chi Minh and then on a separate flight from Siem Reap to Koh
Samui. The flights were on time, clean, food was good and the staff were excellent and attentive.
Very cheap airline if you buy a flexible airpass - give it a go it's much better than easyjet or
Ryanair and they feed you for free.

Bangkok-Koh Samui return, May 05. We were entirely delighted with these flights. Check-in
relaxed, free internet services in the boarding areas, planes very handsomely and fancy painted,
very clean and new inside, full meal in spite of the short flight, friendly staff, what a pity they
don't fly Europe-Bangkok. We would book them at once.

BKK-Chiang Mai. Fantastic. Great check-in, smooth flight, attentive service, friendly crew,

the funkiest looking planes.

Bangkok to Koh Samui ATR72 20 March and return B717 2nd April. For such a short internal flight I
was pleasantly surprised by the attention and professionalism shown by the FAs. Food (snacks)
were well presented and palatable (on such a short flight!) and the complimentary beverages and
snacks at Bangkok and Koh Samui airports were a pleasant surprise. European short-haul carriers
should take note! Would not hesitate to use this airline again.

The word "excellent" is truly appropriate to describe the service on this airline. I flew with them
in February on a spotless and beautifully decorated A-320 between BKK and HKT and it was a really
wonderful experience. All passengers have access to a lounge with free snacks, internet and
newspapers. Although it was a short flight, they managed to serve a tasty lunch; the moslem meal
that I had requested at the time of booking was served first. I really highly recommend this
airline. I wonder, though, if they will be able to maintain these high standards as they grow.

BKK to Krabi in November 2004 and we have to agree with all the positive statements
here about Bangkok Air. Came back via Thai, which though good wasn't as slick as BKK A/L.
One word of warning if you are Diabetic at BKK Airport, entering the Bangkok Air lounge - If you
have an insulin Pen make sure that you tell them and that you have some form of evidence to confirm
that you are Diabetic. They wanted to take mine off me ! I did explain that that could kill me! We
don't inject because we like it, or that we are Drug addicts. I know they are
sensitive about drugs, but I'm a middle aged lady and look it, so did another guy who also had the
same problem. They were demanding a Medical Certificate or letter from my Doctor which I don't have.
(I've never needed one on any other trip!) They finally agreed to let me keep it after much anguish
on my part after I remembered that I have a little card that I carry that tells people that I am
Diabetic in the event of a medical problem. They were very polite, but firm and I could see my
Holiday being shot down in flames - luckily sense prevailed - but be warned. Otherwise a brilliant
trip!

Bangkok-Koh Samui 7/12/04 returned 21/12/04 I agree with most other reviews. This airline

BKK-HKT. Excellent airline. Their aircraft are spotless, service very efficient and on time. They
even had a small lounge which anyone could use in HKT. I have flown all over the world on more
couriers than I can count and this is right up at the top. I wish they had some long distant routes
i.e. Europe, US, etc. Almost all of the major couriers could take a lesson from this airline in
regards to cleanliness, passenger service, on time performance and overall operations. I will fly them whenever they are a courier choice.
