Kona-Seattle First Class A comfortable, hospitable service by today's lowered standards and
expectations. Friendly staff, decent lunch and acceptable entertainment via digeplayer. The
flight was operated by a B737-800 in reasonable shape inside and out. The real minus is the
check-in handled by United and a ratty boarding area in need of organization.

PDX-BOS return in First. This cross-country trip proved to me that Alaska Airlines offers the
worst first class of any domestic airline. The 737-800 simply doesn't offer enough room to be
comfortable. Don't even think about expecting a predeparture drink - they give you a warm 6oz
bottle of water - period. The eastbound trip left at 700am and I was pleased to see a printed
menu card. Sadly, the eggs benedict I ordered was cold, tasteless, and the congealed sauce
looked and tasted nasty. I asked for the other option, an omlette, but was told there were no
extras. I gave up on eating and decided to drink but my requests for a refill were met with
attitude. The Digiplayer is nice, but a better option would be the installation of power
outlets - sorely missing on all of Alaska's planes. The return trip was a coup de grace: a 6
hour trip on the same cramped plane that was under-catered. They ran out of rolls, butter,
hot towels, but thankfully not wine. A middling salmon appetizer was passed out and then 20
minutes later the FA came by with "dressing." She was met with "you are too late Maam" and
her bad attitude got worse. My pork roast was mushy and tasteless. At least the ice cream
sundae was passable. Considering that Alaska used to be a "class act" their recent decline in
service is alarming.

ANC to HNL on a 737-800 in Coach. I reserved a DigEplayer online and it was a very nice inflight
entertainment, with nine full length movies, 10-15 TV show episodes, 7 kids cartoons, Hawaii and
Alaska information, and other Alaska Airlines info. For the meal, they served a nice Hawaiian style
chicken and rice with vegetables, and you could also get a snack pack. They offered a comfy Coach
class with blankets and pillows and nice leather seats.

SFO-PVR-SFO. I notice a familiar theme here. We flew First Class and were very disappointed in the
food (or lack of) and the absence of even the most basic entertainment options. On the plus side
the flight was smooth and on time and FAs were pleasant and the drinks were free-flowing. I guess
they figure if you get drunk enough you won't notice the dirty seats and the broken tables. This is
what air travel has become!

PDX-JNU-PDX via Seattle. PDX-SEA connections on Horizon Air planes that are small but the FA's on
these flights always seem to be in a great mood. SEA-JNU in First Class on 737-800 in both
directions. I agree with other comments that Alaska's first class service has slipped. For many
years on this route you would receive a hearty meal but the "lunch" service was a turkey sandwich
and pretzels. The "snack" on the return was cheese and crackers ! But at least the plane was clean,
the FA's excellent, and drinks free flowing.

Flew PS to SEA via SF First Class. The ticket agent that was a supervisor (PS) was arrogant, the
crew cranky and unhelpful. My husband and I were unable to book seats together; the crew wouldn't
ask a fellow passenger to consider a change of seat. The return flight was delayed in Portland for
3 hours. When we were able to board, plane was filthy, crew indifferent; and the most foul odor
emanating from the lav. The 'meal' offered was barely edible and they ran out of wine 20 minutes
into the flight. Alaska leaves much to be desired these days. Save your money, book coach-they
never seem to run out of the booze you have to pay for?

LAX-SEA-BLI return. Flight to Seattle delayed 30 minutes, but made up some time in the air. Crew
fantastic as always, generous seat pitch on 737-400. Dash 8 400 Seattle to Bellingham, smooth, fast,
and quiet. Return flights also very good. Service is meager, however that is the standard for all US
airlines today. At least the crew are always friendly and aircraft comfortable, which is more
important than inflight service offerings. Online check-in made the airport experience a breeze.

Recently flew Alaska on 3 roundtrips (First Class) and have been increasingly disappointed with the
cleanliness of the plane and the food offered. The service was fine and the people were pleasant.
However, the seats need to be vacuumed out and wiped off and the trays should be wiped down between
flights, not sticky with beverage rings and crumbs still on them. Also, the food is simply
unacceptable. I would rather pay more and get something edible and substantial, but that option is
not yet available. On a 3.5 hour flight from Texas over dinner hour I was asked if I would like a
salad. I thought it was the starter to the dinner meal, and I said yes. I got a small salad on a
dessert size plate (nice china, though) that consisted of some mixed greens and 2 cherry tomatoes
with 2 slices of hot lunchmeat roast beef on the top of it. On the tray was a fancy linen napkin,
silverware, a Seattles Best Coffee piece of chocolate, and a single tablespoon sized cup of
peppercorn dressing. The hot lunchmeat had wilted the lettuce. I was going to pass on it and just
eat the main entree, and I was shocked when the attendant came back and asked me if there was a
problem with my "dinner" since I was not eating it. When I realized that was all I was going to
receive I ate the 2 tomatoes, the lunchmeat, and the chocolate. It was like a bad joke. This food
was served in such a fancy manner and the greens were unusual and probably expensive, though the
portion was miniscule. After paying the costs for First Class I expect to receive a decent snack
that will tide you over to the next airport. At the very least, they should have a second option
that you can pay for that would give you something decent to eat. I would be willing to pay another
$10 or $15 for a meal that was edible and filling.

SEA - BOS first class. I was in a bulkhead seat which allows one to put one's feet up (even though
it's crude). The attendant did a lottery for the food, as he knew that there weren't enough meals of
either kind for everyone. I was #12, despite being in left aisle, 1c. The options were french toast
v three cheese omelette with apple sausage and potatoes. I received the latter. No cheese taste.
Inedible, really, only outshadowed by the potatoes and the sausage. Just awful.

First class SFO to SEA. Legroom in bulkhead first class seats leave something to be desired. The
service was very good for a flight under 2 hours. The breakfast was adequate for a short flight. I
was pleasantly surprised that the meal was served on china! Very nice touch. Cabin attendant in
first class was very friendly, attentive and professional.

PSP-SEA in first class. Skimpy selection of snacks for a flight over two hours, and seats a little
worn. The drinks kept flowing, however. The staff was great and the flight was on time.

I live in Alaska and almost always use Alaska Airlines. They have relatively clean seats but have
dirty seat pockets as with all airlines. Everything looked pretty old but comfortable leather
seats. On almost all flights, you can purchase a Picnic Pack containing a healthy selection of
snacks for $5. You can rent a DigePlayer for entertainment on a very limited amount of flights, so
I recommend bringing some sort of entertainment with you. I have only sat in Coach Class and it is
actually pretty comfy. They serve a complimentary drink and small snack (and you can purchase a
picnic snack pack on all flights and a meal on long flights) and on a short flight from Seattle to
Juneau, they served water before takeoff, and passed the beverage cart twice, so I think they serve
pretty well. I find Alaska Airlines very convenient.

SFO to SEA nonstop first class. I've flown several times on Alaska, always first class and always
seat 1A. The flight attendants are friendly and entertaining. On this particular flight they served
breakfast and a major improvement in food quality. Luggage was already popping out the chute in
baggage claim when I got there.

SEA-EWR Y class. Boarding commenced 40 min before departure. The plane was clean and seats were
new leather seats with adjustable headrests. IFE consisted of a $10 Digital E-player rental - the
player was loaded with several movies, TV shows and music - and this could be split between two
passengers. Flight crew friendly and efficient. They carried out several rounds of beverage
service. Despite a full plane, this was one of the better domestic flights I've taken in years.

LAX-DCA First Class. Service was excellent, wines and food better than the big US carriers. The
flight attendants were professional. The seat very comfortable. Board Room Lounge in LAX was
excellent, free Wi_FI, free drinks and a good selection of snacks.

LAX-DCA. Only airline flying non-stop LAX to Washington National Price a bit higher than on those
airlines offering connecting service. Service not great, but not bad. At least we got little bags
of snack mix. "Meals" for sale for $5 (my wife said her turkey sandwich was still frozen in the
middle). No in-flight films per se, but portable DVD players with a limited selection of videos,
films, etc. for rent for $10 (we passed). Plane clean.

First Class Seattle to Puerto Vallarta. Cabin crew fairly friendly, but unprofessional, one
attendant in the First Class cabin not very discreetly phoning another attendant in the back to
gossip about a passenger that caused a slight snafu in the front. Lunch was a small green salad and
a turkey sandwich which was 2"x4" - about the size of a toddler meal. Sandwich tasty but tiny. No
other snacks offered, and when my husband asked for another sandwich was told there were no extras,
and no offer of any other food. Seriously considered buying a large $5.00 sandwich offered to
economy class as we would not be landing until 3:00 pm. Very disappointed as we feel we should have
had more food options, after paying for first class. They kept the drinks coming, I guess to
divert the fact that they didn't have any other food for first class passengers. Plane was clean,
but looked dated. Overall, service was very good, leg room very good, but the reclining function
in my seat was broken. Flight attendant was apologetic, but understandably, could do nothing. No
digEplayer, which I feel should be on all first class flights, especially as ours was approx. 4
hours. Will fly them again, but overall first class service is much better NYC to Seattle.

LAX- SEA-LAX with Alaska Airlines, First class on the way out and economy on the return. Flight
departed LAX on time and the lounge at LAX was reasonably comfortable with drinks and limited food
on offer. Inflight service was better than expected, with crews friendly an helpful. On the return
flight I was booked in First class but due to over-booking, downgraded to economy. The flight back
again was fine. Again, flights departed and arrived on time. Could not expect much more really.

SFO-PSP-YVR return. Good airline with friendly staff except stuffing from the airline's punctuality
problems. Each of all sectors flown was delayed from 1h -3.5hr. Don't recommend it if you have a
connecting flight.

SNA-SEA-SNA. Y Class. Very good services. Have an hour delay on the returning flight. Found out the
check-in suitcase was broken when I picked up. The baggage service representative was very
professional and polite.

We fly Alaska frequently from RNO-LAX-LTO and have never had a problem - I enjoy the abilty to
upgrade the day of flight if there are seats available. It is well worth the cost of a Board Room
pass to while away the long layovers in LAX, especially since they have recently upgraded the
furniture. However, the LAX board room is far inferior to the one in Seattle - where there are hot
snacks. Alaska's customer service really shines. While, like most posters, I feel that non-US
carriers treat passengers much better, I am satisfied with Alaska's service.

SNA-OAK-SNA Y. Quick check-in via kiosk at SNA & OAK. Full 737-400 both ways yet friendly flight
attendants managed to complete full beverage service on both flights. OAK-SNA was posted with a
15-minute delay but no word on the reason for the delay.

DCA-LAX. Only non-stop flight between these two airports. Relatively comfortable seating, service
not bad. Meals that were for sale looked okay for $5. In Economy Class we got a free, very small
packet of macadamia nuts in celebration of the airlines new service to Hawaii. Whoopee.

LAX to YVR and YVR to SFO. Have flown these routes with Alaska a couple of times now, and the overall
impression I have is: "Consistently Inconsistent". Latest two trips are a classic example. LAX to YVR
was indifferent from Check-in Counter to Baggage Collection. Distinterested, ground staff, FAs that
ignore you, etc. YVR to SFO leg, on the other hand, was fantastic, from Check-in Counter to Baggage
Collection. Here, the lady at check-in went out of her way to resolve a ticketing snafu, and the FAs
were brilliant - among the best I've encountered, world wide. In my opinion, a three star rating is
about right for this airline.

LAX to SJD return First Class. Terminal 3 in LAX is quiet with few airlines, but the seating was a
bit inadequate. Drinks and a hot sandwich were provided. Arriving at Los Cabos, Alaska is located in
Terminal 3, which only has 3 other airlines, therefore, deplaning, customs, and immigration a lot
better than Terminal 1. On the flight back to LAX, drinks and lasagna or cheeseburgers were offered
in first class. Constant drink refills. Only complaint about the flight into LAX is that the plane
stops at Terminal 3, but the passengers must deplane from the rear and take buses to Tom Bradley
International Airport. Sitting in first class, we were the last to deplane, and because of that, when
we arrived at immigration, it was a considerable wait, despite our plane arriving early. Other than
that, would definitely fly Alaska to Los Cabos again, because their terminal location is less hectic
than the busy Terminal 1 which houses American, Aeromexico, Mexicana and a few others. Also, the
check in and security in Terminal 3 is lot faster compared to Terminal 1. Overall, a very good flight
both to and from LA.

PDX-SAN in First on a 737-400. Upgraded to First as I am MVP Gold on Alaska. All in all a decent
flight - no more or no less. Despite the fact that the flight left at lunch time, we received only
warmed nuts, although the FA made a point of feeding the Pilots a lunch service! Drinks were plentiful
and the FA in First was very nice. Flight was right on time. No major complaints

SEA to SAN. Check-in a breeze using the kiosk in the parking garage (no checked bags on this flight)
and the security lines at Sea-Tac empty. Flight only 30% full and FA's had to shift people around in
the economy cabin due to weight & balance considerations. Had the entire row to myself aboard the new
737-900. Nice, comfortable leather seats with decent pitch so my knees weren't knocking on the seat
in front of me (I'm 6'1). SEA to California routes tend to use MD-80s or 737-400/500s. Flight crew
good and kept passengers updated on the delays and made an adequate number of rounds with refreshments
during the 2.25 hour flight.
