AKL-SFO Business class B777-200. Premium check in good and express security to lounge. Good
range of beverages in lounge but evening food not great. It was unusual to see scones, jam and
cream at 6pm. Would be nice to have a cocktail and some tapas but no such luck. Business class
passengers can receive complimentary massage in lounge before boarding. Boarding with Air NZ
is always interesting as plenty of families rock up and board before Business and Premium
Economy. Onboard good ambience and mood lighting was used. Meal service quick and felt rather
rushed. The food was also pretty mediocre. Sleep is excellent on flat bed and main benefit.
The main issue I have (and I have read many others feel the same) is the apparent merger of
Business and Premium Economy cabins. There is no longer any curtain so every time I got up
from the bed I had at least 10 pairs of eyes looking from Premium Economy cabin. Sharing the
toilets is also a pain considering the Premium Economy cabin has been extended to 36 seats.
Arrived early and had to wait about 20mins for a gate. Timing of the flight is great for time
adjustment.

ADL-AKL-RAR economy return. ADL-AKL A320 cabin was hot and seating was tight, although on
return allocated emergency exit seats. AKL-RAR operated by B772 and quite comfortable, however
IFE in our seats was not working, and flight was full so unable to change seats. Cabin crew
interactive with passengers. Catering poor and miniscule, service commencing with a glass of
tepid water, then a tray with a small main item accompanied with a tablespoon of beans and a
tiny cake. Drinks are offered after the meal. Be advised to eat a meal prior to flying on
this routing, or take your own food as we did on the return.

PPT-AKL. Check-in was fine, lounge comfortable and friendly, if basic. Crew friendly if
perhaps a little tired from doing outbound leg immediately prior - not so much interaction
with passengers. Very quick food service to enable passengers to sleep - food average, though
wines good.

BNE-AKL-YVR Economy B777-200ER for both legs. Although the seat pitch was average for economy
class, the design of seats was quite good and quite confortable. The meals were good, and
flight attendants serving water very frequently on AKL-YVR flight - they were friendly and
efficient The only complaint was that the temperature on the first leg was so low.

BNE-CHC economy. I was impressed with the on demand PTV for such a short flight. Small meal
was tasty and even managed to consume a few NZ beers.

HKG-LHR in Premium Economy on B777. Everything excellent except for the very narrow seats.
Narrower than standard economy as it is 3x3x3, but the table and controls both make the arm
rest quite fat. The B747 is far more comfortable, especially on the upper deck. Staff and
catering very good. The extra 10kg luggage allowance is a good enhancement compared to 2008's
offerings.

Initially I booked a flight directly from Auckland to Osaka. Air New Zealand cancelled my
flight and made me fly through Tokyo to get to Osaka. No apology or compensation for this
inconvenience was ever given. The inflight entertainment system was excellent but constant
intrusive in flight announcements made the experience painful. After blabbing on for much of
the 11 hour flight from NZ to Japan they failed to provide essential information regarding
transfers and security in Tokyo until the last minute when many passengers were already off
the plane!

HKG-LHR in 777 Premium Economy. Rows of seats wide apart, although the width of the seats can
be increased. AVOD excellent and lots of options, food of supreme quality as same meals with
business class. The seat was plush enough, and provided good recline. Crew attentive and
friendly. Both airports, especially Terminal 1 at Heathrow, were fine.

LAX-LHR in Premium Economy, Seat 24K. The seat itself is good but a bit worn out - recline ok,
the legrest is good but the feet bar is annoying since it stops you from stretching when
sleeping. Window seats on the upper are the best ones, since you have a little storage next
the window for your belonging that can also be used as a table or to stretch, though you will
have to put your feet under the nose of the pax in front of you. The service was good but not
exceptional and the meals ok, considering the airline is proud to announce that Premium
Economy pax will receive the same service as Biz Class pax. Hot dinner and breakfast were
served, but besides the main meals no drinks were offered. The upper deck pax are on the other
side the last one to disembark since it seemed not being a policy to let Business and Premium
Economy class out before Y. AVOD system were available but froze a couple of time. Departure &
arrival on time.

AKL-CHC-AKL-BNE. Flights operated by B737-300 domestically and B747-400 to BNE. Crew very
good. Snacks offered on the short trip to Christchurch. Great selection of drinks to Brisbane.
Aircraft clean and appeared well looked after. Liked the new check-in procedures for domestic
flights. It was fast, simple and beats those long queues that have to be endured with other
airlines.

Boeing 777-200ER Rarotonga to Auckland, and on to Melbourne a few days later. The meals on all
flights to and from the Cook Islands were pathetically small. The meal sizes have been reduced
but thankfully not quality. Flying Air New Zealand is not cheap and I feel they could at least
offer meals with all the extras as they did years ago given their fares are generally more
expensive than other airlines flying between Australia/New Zealand and the Pacific.

MLB-AKL-LAX Pacific Economy. Return in Pacific Premium Economy. MLB-AKL new 767 service good
with IFE and food good, staff efficient & friendly. AKL-LAX B777service very good. The 3
seating configuration makes the 777 an inferior experience in economy vs 747 for 2 people
traveling together and noticed that premium economy seats looked similar to pacific. Pacific
premium economy return 747 situated upstairs in the hump. Staff very attentive as shared with
business class.

LHR-AKL via LAX return in Premium Economy. First time in PE cabin, and what a difference!
Premium check-in at LHR efficient and courteous, pre-take off drinks and addressed by name,
excellent food, plenty of leg-room, made me very relieved I had splashed out. Priority
boarding and luggage ensured I arrived relaxed. Will definitely opt for this again, and
recommend it to anyone, especially if you are tall, and enjoy quality service.

LHR to HKG return in Economy. Flights on 777s, good AVOD and tasty food. Crew were very
friendly and relaxed on full flights both ways. All the male crew members had a strange
stubble beard, making a strange look across the cabin crew - what is this all about? The first
time with Air NZ, and would use them again, even with the beard cult.
