BNE-POM-GKA. I fly to PNG on a regular basis for work and feel there are two sides to this airline. The
international is great and the domestic is decidedly average. International is great! Good meals, I am a big
lad and only once have the seats been uncomfortable, staff are always attentive and I never had a problem
with delays. Domestic is another kettle of fish. Only once in 10+ flights have I departed on time. The crew
are always nice and pleasant and as long as you enjoy apple juice and a biscuit the food is ok. Unfortunately
there isn't much choice so I just put up with it.

Flights are consistently delayed, particularly on domestic journeys and flights from POM to Lae (the closest
city to Port Moresby in the country) will often be delayed anywhere between 1-2 hours and 6-7 hours. Once
the plane arrives, it is not unusual to experience further delays, in a hot and stuffy cabin without the air
conditioning on! Volume on the PA is always too loud and deafening. The aircraft's are all old and fairly run
down except for the smaller Bombadiers. Service is acceptable and staff will do their best to help and
generally friendly-ish. Food is of an acceptable standard and has improved greatly in recent years.

Honiara-Nadi. Check-in quick as the terminal was empty. Flight on time. Offered pre-meal bar service and a
delicious late lunch with choice of substantial meal. F100 aircraft was clean and comfortable but toilets
showing their age and a little smelly even though clean. No IFE. Crew attentive and professional. Bags on
the carousel by the time we had cleared immigration. No complaints. Bring a small umbrella for
boarding/disembarking as this aircraft uses steps and the rain in Honiara can be drenching. Good value even
though there is no competition on this route/day.

Had two flights BNE-POM return in the last month. The first set of flights left and arrived on time. Business
class seating in one aircraft was large enough to fit a bed. Pity the seats did not recline. Next flights were in
a different aircraft. Unexplained delay of 1 hour. Seat 8L fell back to full recline on take off. Entertainment -
outdated but easy enough to see, but no audio. Toilets dirty.

POM-SIN-POM. B767 a 6hrs flight was an eventful flight, ground staff at POM was ok, requested a seat with
leg room but was given an Economy seat right in front of inflight screen with limited leg room, however on
return flight, was good was given a comfortable seat with plenty leg room. Delays are an issue, if connecting
flights overseas. Need so much improvement.

Have flown ancient B767's on POM-BNE and POM-MNL a number of times. Departure is inevitably delayed by
anything from 15min to more than an hour. Crew are generally friendly and food acceptable but nothing
special. Boarding is never organized in zones with resultant in-cabin turmoil on fully booked flights. Seats
are old but comfortable. Interior is old and the Icelandic Air signage persists. Entertainment is dated and
the features played on communal screens run only for part of the flight.

SIN-POM, POM-SIN. When flying on their 767s, the flight is usually very pleasant. The seats are okay but
entertainment is non existent. Fares are very steep and there is no flexibility with them. Recently I flew on
their leased 757. The seats and legroom were okay. The crew served food nearly 2 hours into our 5 hour flight
and left the empty trays for another hour before coming around with coffee. There was chaos on boarding
which meant no space.

BNE-POM-WWK-MAG-GKA-POM-SIN. International flights on former Icelandair planes with excellent leg space
in Economy, comfortable leather seats, a nice meal, and charming and attentive staff. Huge delay in POM but
placed in a nice airport hotel. Inland flights had very efficient check-in and check-out, simply because the
airfields are so small. Staff always helpful, including extra luggage.

BNE-POM-GUR-POM-CNS. BNE-POM on 767-300ER, check-in quick. Aircraft, an ex-Icelandair 767, evident by
old fashioned seats. Service was slow at times however the food was above standard. Domestic flights
operated by Dash 8-200's, check-in at both Moresby and Alotau was shocking. Check-in lines were long and
staff inefficient. Both flights were delayed considerably. Flight to Cairns on an old Fokker 100. Again check-in
at Moresby was slow. Aircraft was old, service was eventful. We received breakfast however only in the latter
part of the flight.

SIN to POM in Business class. 767 newer than expected and comfortable, flight crew excellent and food
quality good. POM to NRT. Older 767 this time and although not quite as comfortable, flight crew and food
very good again. Only criticism (apart from the cost) is that on both flights, there was what appeared to be
an avoidable delay of 45 mins to 1 hour for no apparent reason.

BNE-POM on 767. Plane was very old. Seats ok but nothing special, entertainment system was old too. Food
was reasonable as was the service. Large drawback was that the connecting flight from POM to KVG was
cancelled without proper explanation, and we were forced to stay one night in a hotel. If you travel Air
Niugini, prepare for such incidents.

When our plane from Rabaul to Port Moresby was grounded, I would like to compliment Air Niugini for the
assistance afforded in order to return us to Melbourne. The attention and efficiency of all staff in Port Moresby was
appreciated and the booking of a dayroom at the Gateway Hotel was a success. Our flight to Cairns in the
afternoon went well too. The rest of our trip to Melbourne by Qantas was fine.

SIN-POM and POM-NRT-POM, crews were friendly and helpful but the 767 was uncomfortable. In flight service was
very poor, inflight entertainment consisted of old movies, food was average. I don't recommended Air Niugini for
international flights but for domestic flights it's ok.

SIN-POM. Cabin staff excellent and attentive but plane ancient and stuffy, table kept falling
down on 3 differing flights in 3 differing seats. All said, I had no choice and it got me to
where I was going eventually but not my favourite airline by a long chalk.

Cairns-Port Moresby and Port Moresby-Mt Hagen return. The big minus were the delays at Port
Moresby airport, due to changing weather conditions (which cannot be helped). Did, however,
enjoy the flights with friendly, professional staff and reasonable seating. Drinks and snacks
ok. No entertainment but flights were short and scenery outside spectacular. No charge for
excess luggage in the case of international visitors connecting to and from PNG. I missed my
original domestic flight but they did not charge for rebooking after I had explained what had
happened with Jetstar (26 hour delay). Fokker 100 landing at Mt. Hagen was an experience, the
plane flying low between hills, fast but steady in the hands of an apparently pretty capable
pilot.

Recently flew twice POM-SIN-POM in economy and business on the 767. Air Niugini staff are
pleasant and do a good job. The aircraft is old and substandard for medium haul flights.
Seats are uncomfortable and offer no support. Entertainment a joke with big screen viewing
only - even in business - and a few audio channels. Air Niugini charges same price as
airlines like SQ and QF where you get better seating, entertainment and all round far better
experience. The 757 they also use is worse.

I booked a flight from Brisbane to Manila. Left Brisbane 1.30 pm Wednesday and arrived Manila
6.30 am Friday morning due to delays, no crew, no aircraft. Eventually flew us to Singapore to
connect with a Philippine Airlines flight to Manila. The return flight from Manila to POM was
cancelled until the next day also. Nothing wrong with the actual flight. Aircraft very old,
but cabin crew good. They offered me 50% off my next flight but I declined as even with that,
it is just not worth it.

NRT-POM-NAN. Overall happy with the experience provided for the price - allowed us to spend
more money on a top level resort in Fiji. Staff attitude was however excellent and probably
better than I have seen from some 4 star airlines. Time taken to respond to requests short,
willingness to please customers. Food also of a good standard, I have started to get fed up
with the bigger airlines tendency to over package and cut costs with actual ingredients.
If they can afford to upgrade their equipment I think we would choose them for a trip again.

Port Moresby to Brisbane. The aircraft is a very old ex American Airlines B767. Catering
satisfactory, not of a high standard. It took far too long to collect used meal trays. The
cabin service on this 2 hour sector was efficient enough, if not somewhat dismissive.
Inflight entertainment consisted of a single movie, and my headphone jack was not working.
Also interesting to note the unrepeatable obscenity written on the seat-back in front of me
(fortunately concealed by the tray table most of the time) In total, a typical "3 star"
experience - efficient and comfortable flight, although nowhere near 4 star standard.

Just returned from NRT-POM-NRT trip with Air Niugini. B757 out and B767 back. B757 was a
squeeze and not comfortable for the 6 hr flight but the old trusty B767 complete with
Icelandic 'No smoking' signs from its days as an Icelandic based aircraft had good sized
comfortable seats. Cabin crew friendly if a little erratic; no customs cards were handed out
during the flight back to NRT. However as they have to do the round trip without a Tokyo
layover it is not a surprise they forget one or two things!

BNE-POM economy return. Check-in at BNE slow as most people had multiple bags/boxes. Older 767 but
FA's friendly and helpful. Arrival at POM chaotic took about one hour to clear everything. At POM
shorter check in line ups and checked our bag to AKL even though seperate ticket avoiding the
customs etc at BNE. Also two internal flights POM to Tari and return from Mt Hagan with no problems.

MNL-POM-RAB return in Business. In the last five years flying with Air Niugini service and airplane
quality has deteriorated dramatically. A flight inside PNG has become an absolute lottery game,
without help whatsoever from the ground crew.

I have the misfortune of using Air Niugini often through lack of choice. Most recent flight was POM-
SIN return. The airline is now leasing an aging White Airlines A310 which is older than the previous
B767. Seats are appalling, IFE does not work and toilets are constantly unservicable. The food is
passable but really nothing special. Service is slow and Cabin crew seem unable to deal with
complaints or concerns raised by passengers. Overall, Air Niugini is not deserving of a three star
ranking - a two star ranking would be more appropriate given the decline in the airline's
international services.

SIN-POM Busines Class. Check in at Singapore easy as we were early and able to take advantage of general early check in
desk and also a separate Premium check-in area is available. Lounge at SIN is nice with a bit of
food. Chaotic getting on plane with lot of pushing - we were sent down at a time when the Economy
passengers were still queuing to go through security. Plane very hot and stuffy. Food edible -
but you do not need 2 meals on an overnight 6 hour flight! Real problem are seats - the plane is a
very tired leased 767 with seats that do not recline much and a poor foot-rest. They are the most
uncomfortable seats I have experienced in either business class or economy for a long time. My
husband could not sleep so put on his i-pod and was immediately told to turn it off as it was
interfering with the radio. IFE did not work.

I have been working in Port Moresby for two years and am a regular Air
Niugini passenger. Have flown with them to Singapore, Tokyo and
numerous times to Brisbane. Primary long haul aircraft is still a hard
working leased 767-300. Fokker F100 sometimes used on the Brisbane
route. Cabin is a bit tired and lacks a good entertainment system. The
service is Air Niugini's real plus - always a smile and flight
attendants willing to go the extra mile. Fare competitiveness has
improved significantly over the past few years with the introduction of
competition from Airlines PNG on the Cairns and Brisbane routes. Qantas
flights in/out of Port Moresby are codeshare with Air Niugini using Air
Niugini aircraft.

NRT-POM-BNE Business Class. It was a pleasant experience. FAs are
efficient and friendly. I did not have much expectations for the IFE
but was actually quite good. 3hour delay at Port Moresby but waiting at
the executive lounge, time went very quickly. Incidentally, I never
complain about delay when the airline company's priority is safety and
paying extra attention to some fault even if its minor. I heard
airliners in South Pacific region as well as Australia and NZ have very
good safety record and I deeply appreciate and respect that.

CNS-POM-CNS + domestic. The cabin crew are friendly, and I would fly
with them more if they expanded their route network. Fares are steep,
but then they have a monopoly on the PNG market. Aesthetic needs a bit
of an upgrade as do most parts of the overall product (ie entertainment,
inflight magazine).

The service is always good, the food often served cold, training required there - the delays are
ongoing - why? Why can't we use upgrade certificates on the BNE-POM flight?
The lounge in POM is late opening and often doesn't open before the 7am departure - people pay for
this service.

BNE/POM/MNL/POM/BNE in April 2004. First time with this line. As Mr Tate says the cabin crew are
shy but very helpful and courteous. The cheap fare for the round trip (about $820) was the snare
but I found them punctual, efficient and the food (economy) quite good if a little light on in-
flight reading matter.

I would not hesitate to fly with Air Niugini Airlines again. I flew twice with them last year (2003)
to Singapore and happened to have on board two of the same crew as my previous flight with them.
They couldn't do enough for their passengers, Qantas could take take a leaf out of their book. I no
longer fly with Qantas as I find the staff always trying to avoid going that extra mile especially
when it comes to night flights.

BNE-POM-BNE Economy. service great, flight was full, food served promptly, the IFE
wasn't so good but
Air NZ is too blame for that. Fare was cheap. The only thing is the Delays Air Niugini is delayed
quite often but the crew are great when the flight has been delayed.
