Beijing-Wuhan return trip (2hr journey). Check-in efficient and easy at both Beijing and Wuhan.
The aircraft seemed quite new and had pleasant comfortable interiors and pleasant inflight
staff. Inflight meals were good, including vegetarian options. There was a slight delay in
departing but kept well informed. I was expecting a poor experience with Air China but I was
pleasantly surprised. They seemed just as good as other airlines I have travelled with such as
British Airways and KLM. I am not a frequent flyer and tend to fly in Economy class for most of
my journeys.

London to Beijing and onto Shanghai, and return. Nice clean A330 aircraft, good legroom,
recommend you request window seats at early check in, ample food and choice. Attentive staff,
most who understood enough English. Not a great selection of films available.

Paris-Beijing, Beijing-Singapore return. Flew this airline 3 years ago, and things have really
improved. Seats quite comfortable, angled flat type, but staff told me they have real flat bed
style of seat coming this summer. Meals nicely presented and to a good standard, and some nice
French wines. Staff service was truly attentive, and while English skills not perfect, I was
able to have reasonable chat and make things understood. Pilot even gave good flight
information before and during flight. IFE not up to standards of top Asian airlines, but was
on-demand type and some recent movies. All in all, enjoyed the trip and think they match many
of the 4 Star airlines I have flown.

Stockholm - Beijing - Hong Kong and back in economy (Boeing 777-200/A330/A321). Boeing 777-200
was old and in need of a good deep clean. A330 and A321 were both very new. Leg room was
consistently good and B777 was particularly roomy. No seat back TVs on the B777 so a worn out
projector with a terrible selection of Chinese films is the only option there. A330 had new
large seatback TVs which claimed to be the on demand touch screen type but were only working on
a 15 channel loop (with a few western films though). Food was terrible- so bring what you can
on board yourself (tricky in Beijing duty free where it is near impossible to buy a bottle of
water and food is pretty much restricted to restaurants, which aren't great either!). Cabin
crew were nice. Flight on A321 out of Hong Kong was memorable for virtually no announcements.

London - Beijing and Beijing - Shenzhen with Air China. Very helpful cabin crew, decent food,
good on board entertainment. Recommended.

LHR to PEK A330-200. Food acceptable, inflight entertainment has improved significantly.
Approximately 70 films to choose from, various other entertainment onboard. Beijing - Ningbo on
a 737-400, good flight but no meal provided. Return was Shanghai Hongqiao - Beijing. Had
problems as plane was delayed by 2 hours, but airport staff very helpful managed to get us on
the next available flight on a A330-200. No meal, just a tuna sandwich. Prices for domestic is
value for money. International can be ridiculously overpriced. Can get cheaper ticket if
ordered early.

LHR-PEK-HKG, the fare was cheaper than other airlines by at least £200 GBP. LHR-PEK sector was
on-timel, however screen did not show that the sector from PEK to HKG was cancelled and we were
only informed when all passengers were at the gate. Staff at PEK didn't provide an adequate
explanation. We were dragged to the other side of the airport to check in again onto another
flight - this flight left two hours later than our original. That aside, service in the cabins
was generally okay. Crew didn't speak good English but understood most of my requests. Food was
good and inflight entertainment was good. AVOD system was confusing as the buttons to navigate
through the AVOD screen was on the back of the remote. All in all, a satisfactory in-flight
experience, let down by poor communication about connecting flights and the less than helpful
attitude of ground staff.

The flight was scheduled at 8:25AM, but I had to wait for a couple of hours due to bad
weather. After the flight was cancelled, Air China put all in a hotel without saying any
further details about the current situation. No one speaks English so I had to overhear
conversations who can speak Chinese and Korean to figure out what's going on. In the hotel,
no one representing Air China there. For example, they didn't know what flight was
rescheduled or not. We had to stay without knowing what will happen for hours, then suddenly
we were kicked out of the hotel by 10pm because Air China didn't want to pay for a night. So,
after 10pm, we were back to Beijing airport and found there were no flight to Pusan tomorrow.
They said we can fly to Incheon, which is about 2 hours distance from Busan. However, they
didn't guarantee the connection from Incheon to Busan, and didn't provide temporary
accommodation for a night.

LAX-DEL-LAX. It gives the cheapest price, the airline also provided rooms at PEK airport as
the connection time was more than 8 hours - both ways. The only drawback is that they do not
have individual screens for entertainment. The crew was attentive and the ground staff very
efficient at LAX and DEL. The food was ok. Good value for your money. Travel if you want to
save money. Legroom was good.

LHR to Beijing, A330 200 aircraft had seen plenty of service. No seat selection at check-in so
partner had to sit across the aisle. The seat pitch was tight making flight uncomfortable.
Indifferent cabin service and food and although cabin lights were dimmed they failed to turn
down heating (overnight flight) so making sleep quite difficult.

ARN-PEK on B777-200. Four PAX in F-class outbound and just me on the way back. Great cabin
crew – couldn’t wish for anything better. Almost on par with SQ. Seats could be slightly
better – they are not fully flat. Both segments left a little late, but arrived on time. Great
food and free flowing drinks. On the way back you could choose from a Chinese or Western menu.
Asked the crew if I could pick and choose from both – and they said of course. China has come a
long way in the past many years and I now consider it a better airline by far than SK that
flies CPH-PEK.

HKG-PEK-HKG and rebooked Xi'an-PEK. Tickets were half the price of CX/KA.
Check-in lady in HK obviously purposly changed seat assignments as did not
happen on later leg. Food good. Flight attendants distant and reserved. Most
likely because of not perfect English skills of many of them but honestly not a
problem as the basics are understood and interaction is friendly. Planes on two
out three leg well maintained. Leased plane on the way out has seen better days.
IFE was from dropdown screens. Giving them a high mark as for the price charged
perfectly fine.

Beijing-Madrid. Seat comfortable, as I slept for 50% of the flight. Food was
okay, but two hot meals for a red-eye flight maybe too much. My entertainment
system didn't work; was missing buttons, so glad I bought a book along. Would
fly with them again long distance.

Beijing to Changchun in Y class. Check in at PEK terminal 3 was really
efficient, staff was really friendly. 737-800 with some good legroom. take off
on time and hot meal served for 1.5 hours flight. Nice hot Chinese burger with
beef. Cabin crew are so unfriendly, they did what you should do in professional
manner but not friendly. Luggage arrived pretty fast.

Shanghai Pudong to Shenzhen. Check in smooth. Surprising you cannot check in online from
Shanghai Pudong airport. Flights on schedule. I did not order for a veg meal, but they had one
onboard. The food was bland but edible. Service onboard was rushed, they just wanted to get it
over with. Crew spoke limited English but better than some of the Chinese airlines.
Entertainment on overhead screen, but they didn't give any headphones. The inflight magazine
was bilingual (Limited English articles).

The seats were okay as far as leg room, inflight entertainment wasn't so great. Couldn't play
any games since the remote wasn't very responsive. Even though we reserved seats for the trip
home before we left none of us (there were 10 in our group) got the seats we reserved and the
desk attendant wasn't very helpful. The food was terrible. After spending a week in Beijing
eating traditional chinese food the last thing we wanted on the way home was more chinese
food.

San Francisco-Beijing-Bangkok Boeing 747/777. Seemed like more legroom than other airlines.
Food was okay for airline food. Old style entertainment, no monitor in seat backs. No choice
of movies, TV shows. There seemed to be less English spoken than on other airlines, but you
are travelling to Asia. I think Air China lags behind other airlines in friendliness and
services, but if I can get a good price, I would choose Air China again.
