Vancouver to Sydney economy. Flight delayed one hour. Dinner literally thrown at passengers
and then lights turned off. A woman two rows in front stood up from her seat to allow a male
passenger to get to overhead locker. He stood on her seat for 8 minutes in which time a male
flight attendant walked past. The lady told the attendant about the male on her seat. The male
flight attendant made no effort to get the man off the ladies seat or offer to help the man
with the overhead locker. A young child screamed for most of the flight. No effort was made by
the crew to help the mother. I was a flight attendant for a number of years and I was appalled
by the lack of service on this aircraft.

YYZ-HKG, B777. Check in queue short, agent was friendly Food has improved and the in-
between-meal snack offer has also improved since my last trip about 5 months ago. However,
IFE still limited and map did not work. The business class lounge at YYZ was minimal.
Priority baggage was amongst the first to come off but baggage delivery has always been fast
at HKG with any airline. All in all, a satisfactory flight but not top notch. For the same
money, CX is a lot better except for the departure time from HKG to YYZ!

YYZ-PEK return in Executive Class. I have to say the service is getting better. Nice planes
(new 777-300), decent food, and IFE seems to be finally debugged (it has been a 50/50
proposition on most long-haul flights for the past 2 years). The tendency of flight attendants
to spend 90% of their time chatting among themselves seems to be abating slightly. All in all,
a decent experience.

YGK-YYZ-YQT Return. Journey started at Kingston Norman Rogers Airport, Ontario on a Beech
1900D on-route to Toronto Pearson. The 18 seater aircraft was very clean, comfortable seats,
however the cabin lighting was a bit dim. After the 43 minute flight, landed in YYZ to connect
to an Air Canada Jazz flight to Thunder Bay. The CRJ-705 was very clean, with innovated cabin
lighting and PTV's was very comfortable, however it lacked legroom. On the return journey, it
was a CRJ-100 to Toronto. Very uncomfortable! Low ceilings and an extreme lack if legroom.
Another Beech 1900D back to Kingston. YYZ-LHR Return. Boeing 767-300ER on the outbound leg,
aircraft clean, comfortable. FA were kind and friendly and a bountiful amount of in-flight
entertainment. Return journey was on a Boeing 777-300ER. Again aircraft very clean, however a
very rude flight crew.

YYZ-FCO-YYZ. Everything was wonderful. Check-in smooth and fast. Boarded on time and
departed 5 minutes early. Flight attendants friendly and very polite. One flight attendant
even gave me some pointers on Rome.

Vancouver to Heathrow - never again will I choose Air Canada. We had pre assigned seating with
seat numbers on confirmation documents - on check in at Vancouver we noticed we had 2 seats at
totally different ends of the aircraft. F for a 9 hour flight this is totally unacceptable.
The explanation I had from Air Canada customer services is that although allocated seating is
given (consequently means nothing), seats are actually not allocated until the day because of
changes.

LHR-YHZ return. Aircraft clean, prompt & efficient cabin service on all sectors. The cabin
crews excelled themselves. Boeing 767-300 seemed somewhat agricultural with much more cabin
noise than similar Airbus aircraft. The aircraft on this route have a refurbished cabin but
with rather strange LED lighting that does not give a relaxed cabin feel. IFE system was good
unfortunately individual screens froze several times but corrected when pointed out to the
crew. Inflight catering another plus point with fresh food and imaginative presentation.
Flight & arrrival information from the flight deck on was almost non existent.

YVR-NRT in Economy. Flight started out poorly as we were 1 hour late departing due to tech
difficulties. Once on board this refurbished A330 everything went smoothly. Excellent mix of
flight attendants. Good seating in economy with personal AVOD. Food not bad although small
portions. Water, juice and coffee runs. Unfortunately as we were late arriving into NRT I
missed my connection and was transferred to United instead of the originally booked Thai. The
difference is astounding between United and Air Canada.

Frankfurt- Montréal aboard renovated Boeing 777-300ER. Plane was clean but Air Canada has some
serious issues with its FAs. My AVOD system froze on takeoff, and I pushed the service button
twice over an hour and a half with no service whatsoever by idle FAs. Only was helped during
meal service (barely edible). FA's were incompetent with lack of Customer service skills and
no smiles.

YYJ-YVR-YYZ-SCL. Victoria to Vancouver on a Dash 8, Vancouver to Toronto on full A321. FA's
service was good. Aircraft clean. Inflight entertainment worked but still no Live Map. Bought
onboard food, typical sub sandwich, quite fair value. Long walk within AC Terminal at Pearson
to the connecting flight to Santiago, Chile. Refurbished 767, service was good and inflight
meals more than adequate.

Toronto - Montreal return. Outward B777, return A321. Neither time were we allocated the pre-
booked seats. However, staff on ground and inflight were efficient, professional and
charming. On time departures, clean aircraft with superb in flight entertainment and prompt
service of drinks and snacks on this short flight. An amazing domestic product!

YVR-PEK and PVG-YVR. On both long flights (10-11 hours) the inflight Entertainment didn't
work. On the flight to Beijing only business class had IFE after re-booting the system 3
times. On the flight from Shanghai, both classes had to suffer without IFE. The compensation
offer from Air Canada for the inconvenience - a 5% coupon off my next flight with Air Canada.
They have got to be joking! On the flight out to Beijing, a 2 year old boy threw a massive
temper tantrum upon boarding the airplane. We had already taxied out but the situation was so
extreme that we had to pull off the runway for evaluation. After evaluation by the pilot, the
pilot decided we'd take off anyway with the child still screaming and not buckled into his
seat since it would take too long to return to the gate and unload them and their baggage.
The child screamed for eight of the ten hour flight disrupting all of economy class who
couldn't drown out the screams since there was no in flight entertainment. I will not fly Air
Canada again.

YUL-YYZ in Economy. Late evening Rapidair flight to Toronto. Smooth boarding onto a tired
looking 767. The interior of the cabin looking dull and grimy with extensive use of duct tape
Safety demonstration carried out manually by the FA's. On-time departure followed by the
unfriendly treatment from cabin crew one has become accustomed to from AC. Rest of the one-
hour flight uneventful with on-time arrival followed by a long wait for our bags. I have been
a loyal AC customer since 1989 but have been watching their decline in customer service in
recent years. If AC wants to regain its reputation it once had and stem the loss of loyal
customers it needs to set the bar much higher.

Early morning YEG-YVR on a new E190 and quite impressed. Easy no bag check-in with kiosk,
service with a smile, no delays and they offer free tea, coffee etc and delicious cranberry
and oat cookies. Agree with others that news/games/airshow non existant, but cheap CAD$3
headphones let you enjoy movies, and great TV shows. Early arrival in YVR a bonus. Can not
fault for the price paid.
