YYZ-Aruba return. Ground staff in Toronto helpful, flight staff friendly, a medical emergency
onboard was handled professionally. The return was less flawless, the flight left Aruba over
two hours late but this was not AC's fault, and they offered complimentary drinks and
apologies for the inconvenience, and seemed on the ball with information about hotel vouchers
and rescheduled connections for those who missed their connecting flights. My expectations
were quite low, so I guess I'm easily impressed by what should be considered basic customer
service! My only gripe would be value for money. The ticket was not purchased as part of a
package, and considering how much this flight cost (~1200), it was a shock to have to pay $2
for peanuts on a 5+ hour flight. Generally speaking, however, the flight was a positive
experience. Hardly the service you'd expect on BA, Virgin, etc, but positive.

YVR-PHL via YYZ & return. If Air Canada could get themselves flying on time they would have a
pretty good airline. Average delay, 44 minutes, we left Vancouver 42 minutes late. Meant a
scramble to make the YYZ-PHL connection which otherwise would have been a relaxed two-hour
stroll thru security and boarding. Aircraft new and comfy, plenty of leg room in economy, IFE
all working fine, plane clean and fresh. Brought my own sandwiches both ways so I can't
comment on the food quality, but I thought the inflight service was adequate both ways. FA's
pleasant and accommodating. Return flight problematic due to 3-hour congestion/runway delays.
Meant connection to YVR missed, automatically booked on next flight. Lost my local airline
connection to my home (Salt Spring Island), but Customer Service worked diligently with their
counterparts in Vancouver to get me on a YVR-YYJ flight economically from where I could get to
my ferry. Saved me the cost, delay and discomfort of an overnight in Vancouver. YYZ-YVR return
flight in older, tired aircraft, legroom still good, seat okay, IFE ancient and not visible
from all seats. From what I've read of other transcontinental airlines, AC is better.

My 90 year old mother flew from Heathrow to Comox via Vancouver yesterday. Despite having
booked a wheelchair for her, which was available at Heathrow, no one helped her when she
landed in Vancouver and she was left to find her own way across the airport to check in to her
onward flight. Consequently she didn't claim her luggage and has now arrived in Comox without
it after a distressing journey, although that is minor when I think what could have happened.
Does Air Canada even have a customer service policy?

FRA-YYZ Executive first. Departure delayed by more than an hour as ground crew worked
frantically to repare some toilets. Passengers using them prior to take off were to blame!
Pilot kept passengers updated frequently on progress and approximate take off time. Flight
attendants professional and very pleasant throughout the flight. Food was fine with a good
drink selection and the AVOD (IFE) only froze once! True that the inflight map feature is not
operational, but the movie and music selection are fantastic with something for everyone. Some
have noted the pre movie commercials can't be skipped, but you can press the fast forward
button on the screen to skip them. I have done so numerous times. The only problem is that
sometime freezes your AVOD and the FA needs to reboot it! Key is to be gentle with the AVOD !
Seats are very private and comfortable with the cabin mood ligthing enhancing the experience.
Landed 1h20 minutes late in YYZ. Nice touch from the FA's was to announce the misconnect
flights and on which other flights passengers were secured. Nice touch AC! Keep it up.

YYC-YVR-ICN business class. YYC-YVR food offering was ample for a very short flight. Flight
attendant was friendly. YVR-ICN was by far the most perfect flight I've ever had with Air
Canada. Flight attendants were very helpful. 3 full meals served on this flight and all of
them were very good. Fully flat seat was very comfortable. Slept for about 7 hours

It's unfortunate that Air Canada is the only airline offering Aeroplan incentives or I would
never use this airline again. The service levels have consistently disappointed me through the
years and now I've just been advised that my itinerary has been changed by 12 hours and the
customer service person (I use the term loosely) basically said "too bad for you". The same
happened to my husband when flying with West Jet and he actually got a call about the change,
got offered to travel the day before and got compensated with a night hotel stay. Air Canada
is always hundreds of dollars more per flight, the service is horrible and check in is always
a nightmare. If there is any way to use an alternative to this airline in future, I will use
them.

Worst flight experience ever. Sydney-Vancouver. Flight departed with 1 toilet not working.
Aircraft tired and uncared for. Wife's seat broken and she was blamed. FAs disinterested &
lazy. Refused to supply any drinks or snacks between their 'regular' meal service times. Basic
refreshments only. Boston to London (via Halifax) 1st flight cancelled 30 minutes before
departure time and we were re-routed via Toronto (We were the only people re-routed because we
were the only "internationals" on board). Staff at Maple Leaf lounge at Toronto refused to
help us contact our arrival contact in London of 4 hour delay. Three of them were chatting
together with no other passengers in sight. Supper & breakfast very ordinary.

YYZ to PHX return in business class. Both flights in a full A321. Flights left and arrived
on time. Ground staff and flight crew were friendly and available when you needed them. Food
(breakfast outbound, lunch inbound) both satisfactory - my kids (15 and 13) in fact pronounced
breakfast as 'the best airline food they'd ever eaten'. Airline entertainment varied and
passed the time quickly - but those route maps still don't work! Maple Leaf lounge in Toronto
very comfortable, US Airways lounge (which star alliance passengers can access) in Phoenix not
as good by comparison - less food and you have to pay for alcoholic drinks.

YWG-YEG via YYC on CR7. Flight attendants great, flight wasn't full so I was able to change
seats to 12D with no seat in front of me and the lots of leg room. IFE great, only thing that
annoys me are the commercials that can't be fast forwarded through. On the return was in
Business, YEG-YWG via YYC. Flight attendants superb, pre-departure drinks, quick 28 min flight
to YYC and then on to YWG. Same service, cold meal, which tasted pretty good. Wine was kept
full till landing. I had 2 big carry-on items and both were stowed in the closet which was
nice. Priority bags arrived first, got ahead of the crowd at the rental counter.

I fly on Air Canada frequently, an elite passenger - a completely meaningless designation. As
a person who works for a small company that can never afford even full economy fares it is
virtually impossible to ever get up-graded despite accumulating many, many miles and stacks of
useless upgrade certificates. I am also in need of gluten free meals. Bad though AC food is
the gluten free meals are truly disgusting. On one first class flight from Japan - paid for
by my hosts - the steward agreed that my boiled white fish and boiled white rice was
disgusting. On a recent flight from Lima I was given three apples for dinner. In flight staff
are often great, happy to agree that AC has become a nightmare, but the ground staff has been
trained and abused to the point that they hate their passengers. And there is never a manager
in sight when flights are canceled (every day) out of La Guardia or because of snow. And how
about those fuel surcharges now that oil prices have dropped through the floor? But if you are
Canadian and don't want to have to fly to the US via Atlanta or Chicago you are stuck with Air
Canada. No wonder Canadians are united in one thing - our loathing for our flagship airline.

Paris to Toronto return. Going to Toronto was ok, but not great. Some of our luggage was
missing when we got to Toronto. Coming back to Paris though was a nightmare. We traveled with
our 3 month old baby. We had the only baby on board and were not given a bulkhead seat. On
asking if it was possible to change seats, we were told that we just had to live with it. We
would just have to hold the baby all the way. We were also told that bulkhead seats cost
extra, as if it was our fault. This really upset me because we tried repeatedly to try and
organize a bulkhead seat days before we left with no success. The people in the bulkhead seat
telling us that they had booked their bulkhead seats six months in advance, and thus would not
give up their seats, did not help either. The trip just went downhill from there.
