KUL-Bali and back. Both flights on time and on new A320. LCCT is basic and not busy on both
occasion. Been using Air Asia & Air Asia X and so far satisfied with their no frill service
and price. Just have to be cautious and beware of booking procedure.

I have used Air Asia on a few occasions and found the service good. They were on time most of
the time and delays were usually the Airport's fault (gate change, queue etc). I agree with
most reviews that LCCT is a total mess. If they were to move to KLIA, then the cost of the
ticket would go up, and it would not be budget anymore. Seats are really really small. AA
should learn from Tiger. Much more comfortable. Budget Terminal in Spore is good, and not such
a mess.

KUL - Kuching return. Check-in for both legs was immediate as we used the machine at the
airports because we had no hold luggage. However, this was the only negative of the flights as
on both legs we were given seat numbers apart. We were not the only ones as much to our
amusement, when the doors were shut before take-off about 20 people in unison suddenly changed
seats / rows / aisles to sit with family members on these 80 percent capacity flights. I think
having seat numbers instead of the previous rugby scramble is great, but families should be
given seats together. We're flying again on Sunday and returning on Wednesday and will be
using the check-in counter this time. The rest of the flights was excellent. Flights departed
on time, cabin crew efficient, and price of the trip was fantastic. We also stayed in the
brand new Tune Hotel in Kuching, which is linked to Air Asia and it was very good indeed for a
total of just 78RM including all the extras.

SIN-KUL return, no hiccups. With seating now assigned, you'll be given a random seat when
checking in online, and if you attempt to change the seat, you'll be asked to pay sgd2.2 or
equivalent for a standard seat. I left it as it is and got the check in desk at airport to
change the seat for free, while collecting my boarding pass. You can also print it at home but
I didn't. Another advantage for checking in online (for Changi departures and if you do not
have luggage), you may go straight to the sales desk for boarding pass and skip the queue
should there be any. I flew alone so do not know if the online system will allocate random
single seats for passengers travelling together.

Perth-Kuala Lumpur return. Check in at Perth the best I have ever experienced, quick with no
problems. Seats on the plane were okay. Return had it's problems. Kuala Lumpur LCCT at 5.30am
looked like the backdrop to a disaster movie! Overspill outside the terminal building,
signage inside was very poor. Once the bags were checked in things improved and the flight
back to Perth was excellent. The planes on both flights were new A330's, flight attendants
were very attentive and professional. Flights departed on time and arrived 30 minutes early.

Flew with then 4 times over Xmas/New Year 2008. KUL to BKK terrible check in, one staff and
some problematic customers meant a huge delay for everyone else. Second trip KUL to Langkawi,
chaotic check in again and then a 3 hour delay including a change of aircraft. Return trip had
been 'rescheduled' and as commented elsewhere; they made no attempt to contact us, even though
they had e-mail and phone numbers. They claim to offer $55 refund for delays over 2 hours; 2
months later I am still following this up - several logs on their web site and 3 calls to the
call centre - all to no avail so far. They are cheap, but treat you like rubbish. Consider as
an 'airline of last resort' - only use them if no one else flies the route or is dramatically different in pricing.

SIN-KUL-SIN on A320. Check-in at Changi very slow. FAs very pleasant and friendly, and they
sell drink & snack with just 35mins of airborne time. Make a long walk to the international
arrival hall from where the plane had stopped. Immigration clearance was quick at KL LCCT, but
it was very chaotic and full of people and vehicles once outside the terminal. Check-in on
return trip was quick, but the waiting area for international departure to board the plane is
just too cramped and noisy, with frequent loud announcement even for domestic flights which
doesn't seems to concern us people inside there. I'm glad Air Asia finally has seat
allocation, but I was told to seat somewhere at the rear even when I'm allocated in the middle
section as someone took over my seat. FA explain it's just for this flight only, without
further elaborating why.

Good value and reasonable space for a no frills airline. baggage allowance should be 20kg not
15kg as this seems a money making exercise.

BKK-HKG return. Airbus 320 on both legs. Flights left on time. Brand new aircraft. They lost
my bag though on BKK-HKG part, found the next day, but Air Asia apparently doesnt deliver lost
baggage to your hotel, so had to go to HKG Intl to pick the suitcase. This is really a
drawback. Of course nobody cared about Airport express expenses, and an extra tooth brush etc
etc. But in these cases you are really happy that your bag is with you again. BKK-KBV-BKK.
Creepy, old Boeing 737. Check in efficient and fast, boarding also (if you have obtained the
express boarding service, for others a long queue). Inside plane very tired, scarily tired, so
I think Air Asia at least on domestic flights should be avoided. Pay a few baht more and get
yourself a safe flight on TG.

PER-KUL-PER. I was extremely satisfied with the service both in the air and on the ground. Yes
the seats are thinner than normal. You get what you pay for and I was satisfied with the
value.

MEL to KL great, new planes. However they really need to do something about the seats. Very
small and don't recline. Many people seem upset with the 15kg limit. It seems more hassle
than it's worth. Wish they would just tag a few extra $$'s on each ticket to off set the drama
and delays. Not a wink of sleep on the overnight flight back to MEL! Flew between KL,
Saigon, Bangkok, Penang and KL. Flights excellent. Few one hour delays which were not big
deal. Not sure I could fly Air Asia X through to London with seats that don't recline.

KUL-Hangzhou-KUL. Bought the flight 1 month ahead and still managed to get 50% cheaper then if
I had used full service carriers. Noted many complaints about AirAsia customer service. Happy
to say that I've had no problems thus far, largely because I've avoided them entirely. Bought
ticket online, paid for luggage and bought food online. Flight uneventful from start to
finish. Kuala Lumpur LCCT is chaotic as expected. Flew on new aircraft equipped with on demand
onboard entertainment system (RM 20). Seat pitch is standard economy, but very narrow, thus
really feels like you're on a city bus. Food was ok, but pricey (RM20). Flight attendants
acceptable. Hangzhou airport very stress-free. Bus from Hangzhou to Shanghai 100RMB each way,
about 3-3.5 hr trip. Overall acceptable low cost alternative to Shanghai. Would fly with them
again.

You get what you pay for with Air Asia. My husband and I took Air Asia for our trips in Hong
Kong and Thailand due to the great deal we got. We had a total of 5 legs to our trip and to
our unpleasant surprise had to pay for all of our checked baggage. Unlike all other airlines,
Air Asia charges you for any bag you check per kg. It is a little cheaper to pay for the bags
online, however we weren't informed until having to pay a ridiculous amount at the check-in
counter. Another issue was that Air Asia does not allow any outside food or drink on their
plane. The flight attendants actually gave the people ahead of us a hard time for bringing
something on. They do not provide any snacks or drinks for free and charge even for water.
In addition, the customer service is not acceptable, bordering on rude.

MEL-KUL and KUL-Gold Coast. Customer service is abysmal for economy class. I prepaid for the
comfort kit, only to find out halfway through the flight they had not provided me with the
complete set, only the blanket. Repeated requests to provide the neck-pillow was continually
delayed - and I finally gave up requesting one hour before reaching the destination.
On my return trip, Air Asia did not improve my impression one bit in the terminal. At the
check-in counter, having my visa on an old passport resulted in very long wait to verify it -
something that has never occured in any other airport. They explained to me that this was due
to the operating system they use to check in customers. The long wait further increased my
irritation due to the lack of seats and room to wait. The seats are uncomfortable and stiff to
sleep in, not worth the "cheaper" price you pay for a relatively long flight. The crew were
understaffed, albeit polite.

Travelled with AirAsia three times - all flight have been booked months in advance. Two
flights had been rescheduled without obvious reason. One had been cancelled. The Hotline was
not available for hours and the refund is outstanding for more than one months. There was
never any reply on requests sent via online form. Nevertheless, it was cheap, but for future
travel: paying some extra money and you will receive better customer service.

Be aware when boarding at Bangkok Airport. Do not bring any additional luggage along that you
have not pre-booked online as they will treat it as excess baggage and charge you a hefty fee
of THB 165 per kilo. Even if the luggage meets the 15KG limit. Total rip off. Worst was the
arrogant and ignoring attitude of the attending supervisor. Otherwise the trip was okay, but
the stress endured at the check in lasted too long and ruined the day.

KUL to CAN return. Overall a good experience with punctual timings, very new planes and decent
staff. KUL LCC terminal is somewhat crowded and poor, plus the rugby scrum to board the planes
is something to get prepared for, however the price makes this a compelling way to travel.
Food onboard very good, reasonably priced and served with a smile.

PER-KUL-SIN. PER-KUL was on new A330, about 70% full, flight was good. Flight attendants were
helpful and friendly. One thing is that the seat only reclines forward, so there is little
space. However, no complaints for the price I paid. KUL-SIN on a new A320. No problems with
the flight, just that the Kuala Lumpur low cost airline terminal is a pain. The flight
arrives at Singapore Changi T1 instead of the budget terminal, so that is a plus point when
compared to Tiger Airways.
