This is a very comfortable and affordable airport. There are a number of shops on the ground
floor with very reasonable prices, also Thai massage at the end of the ground floor, again
with very reasonable prices. They've replaced the lounge chairs in the past two years, and the
new chairs are nicely padded. The only negative is that you will likely have to walk across
the tarmac to board your plane. No problem in the winter, but I'm not sure how that works
during the rainy season.

Small functional regional airport with all necessary amenities, including nice buffet
restaurant on upper level free parking outside and no airport entrance charge for vehicles. I
even checked in with Nokair with less than 30 mins to departure as my Thai friends decided to
stop off at the market on the way to go All passengers are expected to stand up for the
national anthem when it is played by loudspeaker twice daily - a quaint touch.

A small regional airport. It is clean and not crowded. The arrival hall and the check in counters
for departure are in the same Ground Floor level. Departure is on the First Floor. Plenty of seats
at the waiting area near to the check in counters. Few shops selling regional food and souvenir.
The restaurant is on the 1st floor, near to the departure security check point. The waiting room
after security is huge and clean, with plenty of seats and TV sets playing Thai programmes. Toilets
are clean too. The canned drinks sold at the shop after security are slightly more expensive than
the shop before security. Overall, a clean, modern, spacious and brightly lit regional airport

Even though it boldly calls itself 'Udon Thani International Airport'
this small regional airport only offers connections to Bangkok and
Chiang Mai. Apart from Thai Airways there are two no frills carriers
with daily flights to UTH (Nok and Air Asia) with another one (One Two
Go) supposed to open service in spring 2006. They've just finished a
new, bigger terminal building - kind of useless in my opinion as I just
don't see much need nor activities for expansion and the old facilities
are absolutely adequate for the 10 flights it has to handle at the
moment.
