Transit at Singapore Changi from SYD to SGN (terminal 2) and PEK to SYD (terminal 3). The new terminal 3 looks good but the whole airport feels tired along with staff. Still a great airport for transit, but it's lost something. The big issue are security checks at the gate, staff are unfriendly and inefficient and it takes a long time to go through everything. Shops, restaurants and cafes are still plenty, free internet and wifi is great and price of duty free products are still competitive.

I had a 5 hour transit in terminal 2. Easy to find your way around with a good variety of shops and places to eat. The airport is clean with many different entertainment options such as TV lounges, gaming zones and free internet services. I was particularly impressed with the fern and orchid gardens that brought a tropical feel to the airport.

T3 at Changi is great. Very spacious and bright. Never experienced any queues for immigration or security clearance. Purposely arrived early to benefit from vast array of duty free shops and managed to do a lot of Christmas shopping. Even the smoking area in this terminal is a pleasant experience with its outdoor tropical facilities.

Changi Terminal 2 may not be as fancy as T3. But it is still a very convenient airport, especially for Long or Short transit. A lot of shops, and amenities are excellent, comfortable seating, Free Internet, TV, Entertainment and leisure areas. You can easily find your way through the airport and convenient because security check are done at the gate holdroom.

We had two long transits (on purpose) in Changi to provide an extended break between long flights. Toilet facilities are spotless, building and amenities are clean. Airport security efficient and polite. Terminal 3 lounge is a good place to hang out. The airport is very large; so budget up to 20 minutes to walk to the distant gates. Alternatively, use the travelator or the shuttle train. While the shopping opportunities are extensive and the sales staff excellent, be aware that prices are a mix (some competitive, some clearly not). The only grip is that the air-conditioning temperature is set to 25C and the internal humidity seems high. Twice we had to move to find a cooler spot in the building, but no big deal.

I use Changi Airport's Terminal 3 quite often and it is a quick, smooth and pleasant experience every time. Airy and spacious with lots of greenery. GST refund office is located just before security/immigration entrance, process quick and easy. There is plenty of airside shopping and food and beverage options, plus clean, spacious toilets.

Regularly use this airport and have always found it to be extremely efficient. Plenty of shopping and entertainment options for those in transit and spacious terminal areas. One of the best airports around.

In the past, I've always been impressed by Changi , this time I was disappointed. Flying in, I had to wait a long time for luggage, even though I was on the all Business Class flight from NYC, it took me over 1 hr to leave airport. On leaving I could not claim my tax back on my purchases, the line was so long at tax refund I would have missed my flight.

A great experience, in T1. While transiting you can access other terminals facilities, using skytrain. Impressed by the staff who are kind with passengers, explaining what you are looking for. Changi is really what an international airport should be.

It took me less than 30 mins to transfer between flights from T3 to T2. Changi is very efficient, always have a good experience flying in and out.

Efficient, clean, spacious and passenger friendly from check in through to departure. Other airport operators, visit, learn, note and improve your facilities, this is how an airport should be run.

Very efficient airport. Short queues, spacious and clean. My only complaint is the distance between gate lounges. Invariably when transiting, your aircraft arrives at one end of the terminal and the departing aircraft is at the other end. Despite moving walkways there is a big gap to walk in the middle through the shops. Similarly the driver less trains leave a gap to walk. My other comment is how busy it can become. Our flight was delayed because a passenger did not turn up and it took 20 mins to retrieve his baggage from the hold. The pilot then said that we had missed the take-off slot and it would be another hour before we could get another. This was at 1am.

I had an 18hr layover in it and was entertained the entire time. There are air-side transit hotels, free Internet stations everywhere, excellent shopping options, free foot massages, free lounges, a butterfly garden, movies, and all sorts of interesting things to see. This airport is also extremely efficient and clean. If all airports were on this level, travelling would be much more enjoyable these days.

A very passenger-friendly airport with all of the amenities (including a garden, sleeping areas, and showers!) any passenger could need and want. Perhaps Terminal 2 could use a few more eateries and shops, but the current selection is not bad. Immigration, baggage, and security are all rather efficient.

First time user of Changhi T3. Beautiful and spacious terminal, with very quick immigration clearance and baggage delivery. Great shopping as well. Outbound equally efficient.

I travel a lot and this is still a top airport. It is not as nice as some of the newer ones, there is no express train to town, but it is fast and efficient. Immigration queues hardly ever exceed 5 minutes and baggage comes quickly. Terminal 1 is a bit crowded, but 2 and 3 are good.

I was amazed at how quickly (20 minutes) I was able to collect my luggage and clear immigration and customs. No queues at immigration , and enjoyed the same efficient service when I left Singapore.

Changi is always nice airport to transit through. Customs and security are always very polite. Terminal is clean, good range of shopping, and staff are happy. Seating comfortable, and free internet.

Arrived in Terminal 1 midday aboard a flight from Manila on a low fare carrier. Immediately after disembarkation there was a security check, similar to what is normally the case for departing passengers - officers professional and friendly. Immigration and customs officers efficient and friendly. Five minutes wait for a taxi, and on our way downtown. Signs were posted in the waiting area, indicating that during rush hour adjacent to weekends and public holidays, waiting for a taxi can take much longer time. Return to Manila was early on a Sunday morning. Waiting in the check-in line took around ten minutes. GST refund went smoothly with no wait. Around five minutes were spent in the immigration line; security check was at the gate and entailed no wait. Prior to entering the waiting area at the gate a sign advised that free Internet was available. However, although there was free wifi service available, it was not connected to the Internet, and thus of no use. Terminal 1 is under refurbishment and will remain so until 2012. But even with work on-going, I still found it nice, much better that many other terminals in the region.

I have been to Singapore and twice transited through it. Everything about it is brilliant and outstanding. I have travelled extensively all over the world and so far I have not encountered a better airport.

Had two long layovers (overnight) here. Camping out at the Star Alliance Gold lounge was not recommended as the staff made it clear the Ambassador Transit Hotel was a better venue (true except for it was sold out). Fell asleep on the chair only to be awakened by Changi security asking for my passport and boarding pass. This is Singapore. Otherwise, there are quite a few things to do here, assuming you have the energy. Great food outlets! One important thing to mention: if you're transiting thru Japan, do not purchase any liquids in excess of 100ml, even if it's secured. Has to abandon my purchase at Narita.
