I fly through Changi twice a month and find it very convenient. However, the budget terminal,
though I've only been in it once, seems quite boring even though it isn't small. However the
majority of flights are in T1-T3 which are all fairly nice especially t2 and t3.

Excellent airport - loads of amenities and free internet. Just one problem - this is the only
airport I've ever been to, where they don't allow you to take sealed drinks, purchased
airside, through the gate to your flight. I have no idea why they do this. The bad thing is,
they don't tell you this in the cafes / shops, therefore you have to abandon your bottles at
the gate. I purchased two 500ml bottles of water, $4 in total, both still sealed, yet they
tried to take them off me. I therefore opened them both, drank them in front of them and gave
them the empties. Why do Changi insist on this stupid rule?

T1 Check-in handled by SATS progressed at its customary slow pace. The long of about 100
passengers line which had formed due to inefficient check-in procedures moved only very
slowly. Hardly an experience befitting a "world class" airport. Customs clearance is and
remains excellent, but unusually slow on the return voyage one week later.

Overall, SIN is a large and well laid-out airport. Immigration counters are well staffed, and
there was no line either on arrival or departure. The customs officials handling GST refunds
were polite and helpful. Security is handled at the gate, much like Bangkok or Frankfurt, so
queues again aren't an issue. Plenty of shopping and restaurants are also available, and the
MRT station underneath the main terminal is a big plus. On the downside, ATMs are awfully
hard to come by - I could only find one working ATM in the arrivals area near the entrance to
the MRT station, and there are no signs indicating where it is. Also, while security provided
at the gate helps eliminate security lines, it also means the seating areas don't open until
an hour before departure, and seating space is inadequate if you get there early and don't
have lounge access.

T3 is excellent. Vast space means that it never seems too crowded. Plenty of activities
available on long transfers. I used the swimming pool at T1 which is great way to relax
between flights. Transfer from T3 to T1 and back is easy on Skytrain. Huge choice of shops and
bars/restaurants.

Very good airport but far from the best. T1 is getting shabby and is crowded a peak times.
Shopping expensive and same choice as every other airport. Gate security sometimes lengthy as
is immigration at busy times due to very slow processing equipment. Employees are polite but
not always very friendly. Restrooms always spotless.

The best airport I've been to. Many facilities to visit, especially at the newest T3.
Connecting between terminals easy as within the terminal. Plenty of Flight Information
Displays were updating me the flight schedule although not a single boarding call was made by
the announcer. Skytrain in each terminal was available every 10 minutes. Passport check was
fast and quick since there were many counters and officials working. MRT was in the basement
of terminal 2 and easy to reach.

Fast check in and quickly through immigration. Great range of shopping and eating options
available, although drinks can be a little expensive. Easy to follow signs as you moved
around. Staff polite if a little robotic. Distances to gates can be long but expected in a
large airport like this. Overall Changi is an efficient and easy to use airport

A beautifully designed and spacious airport, Singapore Changi has a great selection of shops
and bars/cafes. Check in was fairly quick for such a big airport while security was a breeze.
I would be happy to use this airport again!

Travelling through Changi nearly twice a month, most of the time on my way to Hong Kong or
Europe. Even though Changi might be one of the best airports in the world (not T1 which is
outdated, dark, dirty etc. but fortunately gets a makeover and extension now), the better
airport in this region is HKG. Changi T2 and T3 are nice, efficient, clean, but its a bit
uncomfortable to have the 3 terminals and even though the travel between the Terminals is
nice, the appearance of the airport is rather cold. With the friendliness of the staff at the
check-in its really a hit and miss, customs as well, but the security at the gate is most of
the time friendly and joking. I dont like the military patrols in the airport. One thing is
bad, the connection to the city by public transport. 5 bus lines only, MRT line which is a big
hassle as you have to transfer after 2 stations and have to go all the way to the city center
before going into your actual direction.

Budget Terminal is pretty boring yet is too big to be quick "in-and-out" terminal like Kuala
Lumpur Subang or London City. Limited restaurants and shops; nothing like the main airport
(Terminals 1-3). Facility appears underutilized, as not all budget airlines fly from the
Budget Terminal. If possible, I choose to fly AirAsia or Jetstar, which operate from Terminal
1, rather than Cebu Pacific or Tiger Airways, which operate from the Budget Terminal. However
the lack of aerobridges makes it the only terminal at Changi suitable for Firefly, which uses
ATR72s.

Probably one of the best airports in the world. The services provided within the airport are
outstanding and the transport between terminals is seamless with a light rail system
connecting all three terminals. Additionally the cost of the train into the city from the
airport (known locally as the MRT) is no more than a few dollars. When departing from Changi
there can be issues with check-in which can take longer than is acceptable but arrival is
usually quick. The only minor gripe I have with Changi are the staff, while professional they
are rather cold not providing a particularly welcoming first experience to Singapore.

Transitted through T3 twice in 5 days for around 5 hours each time. Plenty to keep pax
occupied with shopping, eating and the free movie theatre. Also the butterfly garden and carp
pool are nice diversions. Plenty of pleasant quiet places to sit and read and a great variety
of restaurants/fast food outlets to choose from. Plenty of departure screens to keep you up to
date. Concourse shuttles are handy as it's a big terminal. Security was firm but well mannered
(take note LAX, it can be done!). A380 boarding was handled with precision and efficiency. A
pleasant experience all round.

Passed through the airport twice travelling to/from New Zealand. It has been a few years
since I have used this airport and I put it above Hong Kong. On the outward leg we had a 3
hour layover and used the showers at the Ambassador lounge - facilities fabulous and a god
send after a 12 hour flight. On our return we stopped for 3 days at Singapore - arrived at
6:40am and it took us 10 minutes from the gate, through immigration, collecting our baggage
and into a cab. On the day of departure we arrived a few hours too early and watched a film
at the free cinema.

SIN airport T1 to T3 are excellent, beautifully decorated, there is garden, T3 has a live
butterfly garden very good experience and its Free for entry. There is only 1 things need to
improved, that is the counter service attitude. Custom Officer always serve with a long and
bore face, not even say "Thank you" after clearing your passport. The security check as well.
Although it a serious task need to be very careful when checking the passport, but you can do
with a smile. Overall everything has been improving and it better.

I was impressed during my first visit this week. T3 is huge and as other comments suggest, you
have to be prepared to walk a fair bit, although their are numerous moving walkways and you
can ask for a buggy. That said the terminal is spacious and toilets are spotless and some even
overlook the apron and one of the runways. Transit was quick and painless and when I returned
for an overnight stop my bag was on the carousel 15 minutes after landing. The Immigration
staff were the friendliest I've encountered in a long while, all smiles and welcomes which
makes a nice change! On my return I was out of my hotel room and checked in within 15 minutes.
I may have travelled at quiet periods of the day for this terminal but that does not detract
from the all round quality. A very relaxing experience all round.

Upon arrival you are through immigration in minutes and invariably the bags are starting to
come through almost immediately. Upon departure everything runs smoothly too. T3 is a
revelation and whilst it might not have quite the charm that T2 has, it is a model of
functionality.

There are some good things about this airport, but I think it is generally overrated. Customs
clearance and baggage retrieval are excellent. Facilities are OK, nothing really special. Some
good eateries, some even at a reasonable price. Check in is still a problem. No matter what
airline I fly I always seem to get the same inefficient, grumpy check-in staff from SATS.

SIN-LHR on SQ using T3. Excellent, roomy, can't be faulted, although it can be quite a walk.
As for landside access to SIN: If you take the MRT from the city centre, the price is $S1.80
each way, which is extremely reasonable. Allow 40 minutes to get to the airport train station,
as there is a transfer required at Tanah Merah; and another ten minutes again if you are using
T1. A taxi will be faster door-to-door, allow $S20 or so to the central cty.

Over the last 6 months, I went through Terminal 3 three times. The thing which struck me on
all occasions was how surly/bored-looking the security staff has become. One lady at the hang
luggage screening machines was practically snapping at passengers. What has happened? One of
the great things about Changi airport is not just the efficiency but also the niceness of the
people you meet, instead of the supercilious attitude common in many airports.

I arrived in Changi Airport only to find that the travel agent in England had given me false
information which meant I could not continue my flight to Manchester that night. I had only
light hand luggage, the two on-site hotels were full, and at nearly 70 years old I was totally
alone, upset and very frightened. The young lady on the information desk (near the Transit
Hotel) saw my plight and asked if I would stay at the Crowne Plaza. She offered to walk me
there and I felt safe and enjoyed 18 hours of comfort in the hotel.

This is undoubtfully an excellent airport! I've been here a few times for transit. It is a
very clean, there are a lot of things to do. Just be prepared for long walks, because the
airport is huge, much larger than most European airports.

Budget Terminal, Singapore Changi Airport. If you fly on a Budget Airline you are not flying
from any of the Changi Main Terminals - this is now a sub-class travelling experience.
Firstly, despite the fact that you may had your luggage checked through to your final
destination, you actually have to collect it from the belt of your connecting flight at SIN
Changi and go through Customs, as you have to physically leave the airport to get to the
Budget Terminal. Once you arrive at the Budget Terminal, you are in the hands of Singapore
Airport Terminal Services (SATS). After check-in, which took ages, you are left in what can
only be described as a totally stripped down version of an airport. You travel on a Budget
Airline, so you will be made to you feel like a sub-class person in this Terminal. Having been
shepherded to towards the departure gate, we found this gate to be closed and unstaffed,
despite it being 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Departure time came and went, but
still no one attended the gate, despite all passengers being clearly able to see that the
flight was standing outside. 1 hour past the scheduled departure time, I did go to one of the
other gates that was staffed and demanded that someone would attend our gate, as the whole
flight was sitting on the floor in the corridor outside the gate. Nothing happened for a
further 30 minutes, when I lost my patience and went looking for anybody from SATS to demand
to see the Terminal Manager.

Two transits through Changi in Dec 08 and Jan 09 - an exceptional airport. It is huge but
easy to get around with the transit system and travelators (all of which worked). On a
6-hour layover I spent 1.5 hours at the rooftop pool (for A$15), had a one hour massage, went
around the butterfly garden, watched a film and took a shower - all great for a long layover.
Highly recommended airport.

Terminal 1. I normally have high praises for Changi, but my last couple of flights have been a
disappointment. In the check-in area, there is little place to sit, and no place to stay for
transit/waiting passengers. (After passing the immigration, situation gets a lot better though) My
check-in counter was supposed to be counter 2, but it was transferred to another one without any
announcement or warning. Security check to enter the boarding area was very tedious, which is quite
unlike Changi. The line started to pile up, and the wait amounted to almost half an hour. On the
plus side, transportation to and fro is convenient, facilities are fantastic, and generally above
average. Despite some misgivings, I still regard Changi as one of the better airports in the region,
tied with KLIA and Hong Kong.

Changi seems to have lost the plot with Terminal III. Whilst Terminal I and II have individual
security screening at each of the gates, the same cannot be said about T3. Plus, the shops and
eateries are in the middle and too far away from the distant A15+ gates. Disappointed.

Terminal one excellent throughout. I can see why this is a five-star airport. It only took me 7
minutes to get from the plane door to duty free, make one purchase, clear passport control, get
luggage and clear customs. Excellent speed and efficiency all over. Staff are multilingual.
Singapore has four official languages. Outside customs, plenty of payphones, food / convenience
store / tourism center. Taxi rank is very good and prompt. They charge exactly by the meter. Also
available are Mercedes for rent (minimum 50 Sing Dollars). Toilets were clean! Plenty of food
choices - more than I could list. Extensive duty free / shopping. Independent security check for
each gate, which increases efficiency.

For an airport of its size, you cant beat Changi for ease and speed in getting from plane to taxi
with baggage and also the ease of movement due to the combined and departure concourses. There is no
other competition. This same route takes longer in HK and Incheon with their light rail and single
terminal concept.

Arrived from Bangkok to Singapore on a early morning flight. This airport is a city within itself,
you really do not really need to leave the airport to go shopping, watch a movie, or go for a swim,
its all there! Stayed in the Transit Hotel which I found to be excellent, and got on my flight back
to Melbourne with no problems.
