Airport is OK, I was there in January. Airport has a lot of space, but the infrastructure dates from the 90's.
Immigration is friendly, come prepared as you're likely to pay 10 USD to get your passport stamped. They still
do arriving and departing announcements which can be annoying if you're trying to chat or relax! Airport
located 40 km outside the city of San Salvador, it means that if you have heavy bags you should better stick
to the licensed taxis, they will charge 25 USD to City centre.

Great Hub. Plenty of stores to choose from and extremely clean
facilities. The only drawback is the crowded airline counters which need
to be expanded. El Salvador airport though, is TACA's major hub so most
passengers get to enjoy an easy transfer and the amenities you find on
the way to your next connecting flight. Most definitely the best airport
in Central America. This is not my opinion but that of most business
travellers from the region.

Good shopping, clean bathrooms and decent eating in gate area, crowded check in (to be expanded in a
couple of years), crowded arrivals area, decent customs & immigration. Far from San Salvador, but
very good highway + taxi service.
