Simple facilities and little sophistication. Not much space free but other much more sophisticated
airports suffer from this problem as well. The vast majority of passengers were UK nationals going
onto charter flights. Check-in was simple and efficient. All procedures were correct and orderly
though the queue for security was about 15 minutes in length all through the period of 2 hours we were
waiting. We decided to only proceed through security as the time for embarkation approached and the
number of people waiting airside was such that we felt this was a correct decision. Once through
security our flight was called almost at once and we strolled some 100m, under supervision, to the
steps of the aircraft where we then boarded quickly and left on time. All in all a very acceptable
experience.

Having used this airport as a point of arrival for Barcelona, it was, until recently, totally
inadequate to handle more than 2 planes at a time. Now that Ryanair use it, it has been
extended allowing Ryanair their own check-in wing and there is a smart new arrivals terminal.
No jetways here, mind you, so expect a 500 yard walk from your plane to the terminal, in all
weathers (mostly warm of course). However, last week (early Aug 05) a flight attempting to land
in a thunderstorm had to abort and divert to Ryanair's other Catalunyan airport, Girona. 120
miles away !! Flood water had caused drains at Reus to overflow and the landing conditions
were dangerous. Check-in at Reus is a nightmare, as there are hundreds of people, in about 8
lines for 4 simultaneous flights, plus Ryanair's check-ins, and one small entrance to departure
lounge (again - tiny) through the centre of the check-in lines. Not a pleasant experience, and
I imagine its worse with a family of small kids to keep roped together while picking your way
through the lines. Plans to expand it, but it could do with it now! I'd rate it 3 out of 10
as an experience.

I have flown in and out or this airport seven or eight times recently.
even though it is a very small airport, it is a well run and efficient little place.
Checking in is always pretty quick, hassle free, waiting for your baggage is good - often going
around the carousel before you get there. Car hire is usually no problem. Usually plenty of seats whilst waiting for departure.
Duty free shop is pretty small, but has a good choice of spirits etc.
All in all a nice little airport
