10 minutes from stepping off the plane, immigration, luggage collection and in the taxi. For a small airport, they could teach some of the bigger boys a lesson in efficiency.

For a small airport, it is very efficient. Apart from what seemed like an unnecessary delay waiting for a bus to take up 50yards to the terminal on arrival, I was through the airport in less than 15 minutes. Departure was equally efficient, even at 6.30 am they had plenty of check in desks open and I was checked in and through security within 10 minutes. There is some work going on in the departures lounge which might make it a bit crowded at peak times, but OK early morning. Reasonable catering facilities, but like most airports overpriced and not the best quality. New non-schengen area has fewer facilities, so would recommend staying in the main lounge until the flight is called - passport checks to the non-schengen area are minimal and quick.

For a small airport that gets quite busy, especially in summer, both the departures and arrivals processes are relatively quick, organised and pain-free. The airport is modern, clean and friendly. Perhaps the information kiosks by the banks in the arrivals lounge could look a little less like market stalls, and the coffee and food on offer could be improved a notch or two.

Malta is a small clean airport and has all the thing that are needed. You have the banks, ATMs and car rental in the arrivals, and in departures you have your chec kins with a few shops.

The two ATM's at Malta International Airport are located as you exit the Arrivals hall. There are also two branches of HSBC and Bank of Valletta which are manned on a 24hour basis. Thre are no ATM's in the check-ibn hall or departure areas.

Although this airport was small, it was clean and had almost everything needed. I could not find an ATM machine anywhere so for 3 hours me and my partner had no food/drink. Very cheap in the duty free shops. Was very impressed with security procedures as soon as you checked in.

I have seen the changes over the years at Malta International Airport, and for a country of this size, it really is a , well presented airport with good facilities. It has recently undergone a refurbishment whereby there now exists many choices of eateries, duty free and entertainment. The security is of a high standard.

Malta International airport is relatively small, it has a really nice atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is a cafe selling delicious pattiseries. The duty free shops are not many, but the prices are good. You can also book helicopter flights anytime of the day/night. On the negative side, if you arrive there late at night and need to wait for a flight, there is nowhere to go (cafes/ restaurants). Also, the loos are a bit minging, really. Overall, Malta is a spectacular place.
