SUMBURGH AIRPORT review : 28 August 2008 : by Lawrie Hall

Customer Rating : 4/5 | |
Delightful little airport serving virtually all Shetland passengers. Internal flights from Aberdeen,
Edinburgh, Glasgow Orkney and (twice a week) STN, plus occasional scheduled flights to Bergen and
Faroe. Terminal has a restaurant, tourist office, bookshop and car hire. Everyone is friendly, even
though they have significant disruption from time to time when fog closes down operations.
The only gripe is that public tranport to Lerwick is not frequent enough to meet all flights. But,
overall, just like the rest of Shetland, it is a refreshing change form the 'me too' culture of most
of Europe.
