Recently boarded a flight in KLIA with Malaysia airlines to Brisbane. We had to wait over 2 hours in a queue for check-in. There were only 3 counters open with people on either side sitting doing nothing. By the time we finally checked in, went through immigration and security we had no time for shopping and had to board straight away. I am outraged that an airport with such great facilities can condone such poor standards from the airlines, what a disgraceful way to end my holiday.

I think KL Airport is one of the Best in Asia! Arriving was very easy and immigration a breeze. The airport staff are very friendly and helpful. Departing very easy as well. Immigration and security was a breeze and then took the monorail to the Satellite Terminal.

KLIA is a modern, spacious airport that is well-run and efficient. Going through immigration was pretty easy. Travel between the main terminal and satellite terminal on the Aerotrain is easy. The restrooms at the satellite were quite clean. Security at the main terminal missed the bottle of water in my carry-on bag, although I remembered to finish it as I arrived at the security checkpoint at my gate. Public transportation between the airport and the city centre (at KL Sentral) is not too expensive (RM10 by bus, RM35 by express train) and is reasonably fast (an hour by bus, 30 minutes by train).

I was in Kuala Lumpur on one day stop over to Perth. I was surprised to see how clean and spacious it was and how friendly staff were. Reasonable prices offered for all different budgets. The mini forest is wonderful. I would like to suggest the airport do more marketing since not many passengers seem aware of what the airport has to offer.

This airport is to avoid for long transit. There are non stop announcements of everything going on in this airport, preventing you from taking any kind of rest after a 12hr flight. The airport is below standards of BKK, SIN, HKG, ICN etc, and it is so far away from KUL.

Satellite terminal, in transit. Compact design, an excellent outdoor enclosure in the middle of the terminal. However, not nearly enough free Internet access, and much of what was there, in the way of terminals, was not working. Also, uncomfortably warm. Would fly through again, but not really up to the standard of SIN.

Impressed by its capacity. Night of my departure 12-13 wide bodies had departure within 45 mins ,not mentioning some local flights. The terminal area is huge and the aisles wide that you had the feeling of an empty airport. Airport public areas are clean, so were the private rooms. Plenty of restaurants and many shops. No problems on immigration, nevertheless on my arrival flight customs were slow but at least they smiled.

Fantastic choice of facilities to cater to all tastes and needs. Plenty of food, beverage, banks, exchange. Having flown previously through the main KLIA terminal, the immigration formalities on arrival at the LCC-T somewhat destroyed the experience. I spent over 1 hr in the queue but by the time my passport was stamped, the queue had grown a further 100%. Only 50-60% of the desks were manned. It may be the low cost terminal but a passenger is a passenger and considering the throughput from the low cost carriers better facilities should exist to support a smoother arrival.

Very nice airport but problems with immigration while going in and out of country. Took 2 hrs to enter Malaysia with about 500 hundred people at immigration with 4-5 staff at counters. Most of the immigration positions were vacant.

When I entered KLIA for the first time, I was extremely impressed. This airport is very clean, beautifully decorated, and user friendly. I just enjoyed the aero train experience, the jingle in satellite concourse, the shopping, food courts and superb staff.

Airport is very clean and spacious with beautiful architecture. Staff were very polite and helpful but time was wasted at immigration followed by long queues and slow wifi. There was acceptable queuing time at check in , customs and security Duty free prices are reasonable with a large variety of foods available.

I travelled to Kuala Lumpur in July 2011 and first of all KLIA is very clean and people friendly. I did not have a lot of the queuing issues at immigration and security checking The satellite terminal has a big area to bring the jungle into the airport and the small forest at satellite building is really beautiful. I also could see a lot of resting area and chairs for traveller and all facilities needed just around the corner compared to my previous travel via KLIA in Jan 2011. Finally I would say very stunning airport with excellent customer services.

KLIA is definitely the best airport in the world owing to its excellent architecture, professional and caring staff, clean and spacious and everything else. On par with Incheon, CLK and Changi, Asian airport rocks and everyone in their lifetime must see this architectural wonder and feel the warmth of its staff and experience the Asian hospitality. Malaysia is truly Asia starting with its gateway airport.

The airport is great! My mom and I traveled to Kuala Lumpur in March 2011, unfortunately my mom had a fractured heel and the airport staff were very attentive and helpful in accommodating my mother, they also offered to re-bandage my mom's heel. They were friendly and always offered help, which made my journey easier and less stressed. Plus, the immigration runs smoothly and we made in through in no time. I could see a lot of resting area and chairs for traveler and all facilities needed just around the corner. Architectural wise, I would say very stunning airport with excellent customer services.

Kuala Lumpur International may not have all the bells and whistles of Singapore or Seoul Incheon, but it is a pleasant place to arrive or depart from. The terminal is clean, modern and easy to navigate and the fast train gets you from the airport to KL Sentral in around 26mins. Sometimes queues at immigration can be an issue but that is probably the only negative for this airport.

KLIA is very clean and people friendly. The architecture of the terminal and satellite terminal is fun to study while waiting for your flight. Our flight in and out of KLIA was around 10PM for both times we were there. I did not have a lot of the queuing issues mentioned, however even being 10PM at night it did take a lot of time to get through departing immigration. The satellite terminal has a big area to bring the jungle into the airport, very lush and green for an area usually devoid of plants. Shops seemed to be open at all hours, a bit expensive however.

Like many arrivals have complained in recent times, immigration has many counters but understaffed - resulting in long line of passengers waiting clearance - although counter officers friendly. This time noted improved transit facilities and many more high quality retail outlets and choice of food especially in satellite terminal. Love how the tropical forest there has grown and now has board walk and water feature. No doubt calming effect for some passengers. KLIA was clean, well sign posted and in good shape after 10 years. It deserves the official 4-star rating.

Passed through KLIA four times in May 2011. Overall impression is of a clean functional airport that appears to be built for more passengers. In saying that though it is a great relief that there are not more as the queues are horrendous enough with the passengers they have. For both arrivals and departures the immigration desks are woefully understaffed and it is incredibly slow to get processed. Security was much more efficient and the security guards appeared pleasant and efficient. If airport shopping is your thing there is a good selection, though very expensive. Plenty of places to eat too, though not very cheap and they seem to be scattered all over the terminal as opposed to being in one central location. Getting to and from KL to the airport is a breeze on the KLIA express. Much more relaxing than the highway.

The positive impression of the nice architecture of the airport was countered by endless, unnecessary queues at immigration. Using very few counters for incoming foreign passport holders, it took 90 minutes!

I arrived too early for check-in I waited two hours before the counter opening. Limited seats facilities. Bar and food outlets only with service at counter, no table service. Having three large suitcases and two laptop I could not leave them unattended. So non drinks and foods for two hours and even non possibility to go to toilette. Transportation from mail terminal to satellite by bus, full to the gill, limited seats, air conditioning off.

Flying from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok. Always have flown stress free through KLIA. Ample transportation options to the city, large Check in terminal. I love the efficiency of the passport control (was kind to as well let me through the Malaysian passport only lane when my flight was about to board) and have to mention that they have always been courteous. Certainly something of a big plus for me when my current home airport is Bangkok and I always feel I am flying back to chaos, long lines and surly immigration officers. The terminals are "separated" so have to travel by train but this time seems the "bus" was doing the chore. More seating can be added for rush hours for passengers. Very clean and efficient. A lot of shopping but am one of those who fails to see the point of stores and shops when you're flying.

This airport has no seating arrangements for transit passengers. All gates have a few seats but gates are not announced until one hour before departure. Woe betide if the flight is late! Restaurants are few, with limited choice, perfunctory service and placed illogically. This airport management has no idea about what it means to be a transit passenger. To add to this lack of seats, or anything else to rest the feet/legs, the announcement boards are too few and the staff at the transit desk unprofessional.
