Used this airport in July to fly Olympic to Athens. It is simply fantastic with an open roof garden looking to
the runway and Aegean. Clean toilets and limited shops.

Used the airport last week, love the terminal building it is so charming with lots of white
and blue colours, and the second floor terrace is really nice! The only down side is the gift
shop and food outlet is too expensive and the airport is a bit small - but luckily there is
only one flight at that time so it is still bearable.

It is like going back 30 years but, if you are lucky not to have 5 flights departing at the same
time, it works and everything goes fast. The upstairs terrace is really nice and allows you to catch
the last Greek sun.

Santorini airport is close to the center of the island. Other people have commented on it's size and
I agree with them that the airport needs to be expanded to cope with the increased passenger loads.
I really liked their upstairs observation area. it was nice to be able to go outside and watch the
planes coming and going and enjoy the breeze. A rare thing with airports these days. One thing that
really annoyed me about Santorini Airport is that it's a 30m walk from the terminal to the aircraft
- so why to they cram everyone onto a bus that drives the 30m, does a lap or 2 around the aircraft,
stops beside the aircraft and waits until everyone on board is hot and sweaty before opening the
doors? As you take off, you get a nice view of the island and the next thing (if flying to Athens)
the aircraft is getting ready to land. Spend your euros before you go to the airport, prices are a
rip off. To sum the airport up - it serves its purpose, but the terminal needs to grow.

Tiny. If more than one flight is waiting to board, you'll have a hard time getting a seat in the
bar or gate area. Typically overpriced, but a great view of the runway from the bar. Not a bad
place to fly in/out of.

Arrived from Athens. Small compact airport. Nothing to complain. My
flight was the only flight to land that evening and the airport was
close to the water's edge so it was a very welcoming sight on arrival.
No connecting bridges. You walk down the plane and straight into the
arrival hall. Almost spartan arrival hall with only 1 conveyer belt for
baggages. Walked out of customs and straight into a horde of touts and a
very large carpark. Airport is just 15 minutes away from Fira by car,
the biggest town on the island.

Santorini is a lovely island with and ever growing number of visitors.
The airport however leaves a lot to be desired!
When you get to the airport you have to queue outside in seperate queues for your flight depending
on take off times. So whoever has the earliest flights gets into the airport first.
You have to put all luggage through an x-ray machine before you reach checking, which I have no
problem under the present climate, but the security person was chatting to a youg lady rather than
looking at the x-ray! With 8 check-in desk and 2 per flight it was mayhem, once you have checked in you then go through
security again which took at least 30 minutes and after that you stand in an area no more than the
area of a house and with 2 or 3 flights waiting to board that got very congested.
You can escape to a viewing area, but like with our flight, some passenger missed the call for
boarding and were late - making the plane 45 minutes late.
It is a shame that such a nice Island is let down majorly by it's airport.
