Pretty basic as airports go. Way out of town it is simply ridiculous, and taxis are - well keep your belt on and wear a helmet if you have one. The airport sort of works but this is a typical domestic Chinese airport, not great not entirely hideous, but you know what! If you want to fly to Hangzhou its this or nothing. I can tell you it is heaven compared to the central rail station.

Toilet cleanliness is awful. This new airport could have been better than the old military airbase, however it still has long way to go. I will give it a 1-star or no star.

Airport uses a lot of natural light. The design is modern, especially the departure lobby, the ceiling its so high. The staff in the airport have good manners. The luggage arrived quick and there's plenty of check-in counters, too. The bad thing - airline lounges terrible.

Used both domestic and international sections recently. Airport is new, airy and modern, with plenty of natural light. Walk to passport control was reasonable. Passport control was well-staffed, and did not take long. Officers smile! Luggage also arrived quickly. The drive out of the car park is somewhat convoluted, under the terminal building and out again and even had locals stumped. Check-in procedures quickly done, though why the Chinese Authorities insist in customs declaration upon departure is a mystery to me. All it does add to the scramble for forms and jostling for space on the tables. Once airside, there isn't much there. And constant announcements for all flights since int'l and domestic areas are only separated by glass partition. Airline lounges are miserable. In all, a fine modern Chinese airport, no complaints

New airport opened around 2000 and much better than the old airport at the military airbase. Plenty of check-in counters and smooth handling in security check. First class lounge good. As most Chinese airports it is noisy from continuous announcements.
