Very small Airport on the Northern German Island of Sylt. During Summer Season served by Lufthansa and Air Berlin with flights to major German Cities. Only a handful check-in Counters and during busy hours on weekends - which means 4 or 5 planes within a couple of hours - long lines. Upon Arrival only one Baggage Belt and Baggage Claim Area crowded. But due to the small size of the airport and short distances from the planes to the Baggage Claim Area, baggage arrives very fast. Staff very friendly and efficient; waiting lounge can get very crowded during peak hours. Small shops and one nice Cafe/Restaurant. Short distance to Parking Area; Delivery service by Rental Car Companys. No public Transport. Overall a different, but nice experience. And flying to Sylt gives You a great chance to visit the island even from Southern Germany for only a few days.
