Since my last review, Karlsruhe airport has improved beyond expectations. Regular
flights to more destinations and vastly improved bus services to Baden and Rastatt.
Eating and shopping facilities need to be improved - especially on Sundays when
the duty free shop and gate one bar are generally closed.

I use Baden Airport several times a month and it gets better each time -
it is growing dramatically. The airport staff are always helpful and
polite at check in and security. The airside cafe at gate one is never
open and there are no local buses at all on bank holidays to either
Baden Bhf or Rastatt (the main rail points for Karlsruhe and further - I
had to take an expensive taxi. Rastatt aso has no bus service on
Saturday but the airport still has regular flights coming in.

Flew into this airport again in October. The new terminal is now open,
but with only a handful of flights a day it is a bit of a ghost town.
That aside, it is now a very pleasant airport to use. Taxis are
available, it now has a couple of places to grab a drink or something to
eat at reasonable prices, staff are pleasant and polite. One thing to
be aware of - if your flights are assigned to gates one or two, you will
need to make your visit to the " duty free shop" before you go there,
once at these gates it is too late.

I used this airport for the first time this week and would definitely use it again.
A small but pleasant airport with clean and modern facilities. Check-in and baggage were fast and
efficient and travel to the airport is now much improved. A variety of bus links are now in place
which connect directly with Ryanair and Deutsche BA flights in and out of FKB. Most of these
connections are noted on links from Ryanair's website (eg Baden Baden, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg and
Mannheim among others). There is now, however, a new direct link to Kehl, Strasbourg and Freiburg im
Breisgau, not yet posted on their website, details of which can be found on www.eberhardt.de . The
journey from Strasbourg city centre takes 1hr and costs a reasonable 13€ single or 21€ return.
Construction work is currently underway to expand facilities at the airport with a date in the late
Autumn of 2005 set for completion.

A small regional airport, ex-NATO (Canadian), serving inland flights and European charters
(including Egypt). Elegant small buildings, fast baggage and security handling, very short ways.
Hard to find with your own car (road signs? what's that?) and an absolute nightmare with buses (whose
drivers sometimes will not even stop for the waiting passengers, but just brush past them empty).
You spend more time getting there, than flying, and that's probably the main reason for its lack of
success - it is just too inaccessible.
