The improvements I mentioned in 2007 were completed on schedule and have given this airport a
new and modern feel. Unfortunately the upper level is no longer a viewing deck area. However a
new restaurant with a view of the airfield was installed on the ground floor. Facilities are
top class, considering the size of the airport. A brand new baggage retrieval area was added
to the airport. The layout of the airport works well. Staff are still just as friendly.

Bloemfontein airport is currently undergoing improvements to its buildings and facilities. This is
with a view to the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup to be held in South Africa. I love this little airport
because there is an air of excitement and a bustle of activity. While the upstairs cafeteria is
undergoing improvements, there is a downstairs cafeteria where refreshments may be purchased. The
airport personnel are some of the friendliest i have ever met! Their are ample parking and car rental
facilities available.

A very small airport, with a few facilities, including a shop, and a
upstairs restaurant. They have several car hire firms to choose from if
you are intending to rent a car. What was quite strange was that the
arrivals and departure hall is in the same part of the airport. Check in
was very speedy, and over in less than a minute. The good thing is
that you will not be subject to very long queues, and passing through
security is quite fast. If you happen to be at the airport alone, take
some reading material, as there is not much activity, and you might get
bored fast.
