AIRPORT SECURITY RATING

SEP 2007 : For reasons of public security, Skytrax have withdrawn the publication of Airport Security Ratings.

Skytrax Security is the a specialist division of the Skytrax Group, carrying out risk analysis and security audits at airports across the world since 1996. The Security Ratings contained in this site are compiled independently of individual risk analysis studies, and are the result of separate security analysis by Skytrax personnel.

The Security Ratings displayed represent the opinion of Skytrax, and do not constitute an officially sanctioned ranking format commissioned by any individual airports . Whilst every effort has been made to ensure final accuracy at time of rating publication, Skytrax Security reserve the right to amend airport ratings at any time, and the information is supplied as a guide only. It is not allowed for any third party organisation to copy, use or publish any of the information provided in the Airport Security section without the prior, written consent of Skytrax.

Security Rating displays are explained below:

	This is a unique Skytrax security feature - it provides an overall assessment of the security "feel-good" factor which passengers experience. This covers the human touch point areas - such as visibility of police and security staff, attitude, consistency and portrayal of professionalism by security / screening staff etc. In other words, the "comfort" feeling you get after passing through the different security measures.




		This is the rating which is applied to visible "front-line" Security procedures being applied inside the terminal buildings - including baggage screening, passenger screening, staff security access systems etc




				This is the security rating applied to the visible external security - including airfield security patrols, perimeter fencing, CCTV, supplier airside access, vulnerability of land / water areas close to airfield extremities

More information about the detailed Security Rating system can be requested from Skytrax Security, but this will ONLY be provided to bona-fide airport operators. All other requests will not be answered.
