While I miss the convenience of walking to and from the airport in the old Amari hotel, the shuttle
service was convenient and prompt. The proximity to the airport meant that I woke up at 4am for my
6am flight (I was transiting and did not have to check any bags), as opposed to other passengers who
woke up at 2am or so. The new airport is so far away from everything that the hotel is really
useless as a base for sight-seeing, in any case you can find a better deal in the city. The rooms I
stayed in were clean and comfortable, but did not have the best selection of TV channels. Both
times I had rooms facing inside the building (once towards the pool, and once towards the garden),
and they were very quiet. The bathrooms were quite well appointed, though I did wonder about the
large window into the main room - it seemed a bit odd. The rooms can be a bit of a hike from the
elevators, and the deep carpeting made dragging my carry-on bag difficult. The major downside was
the restaurant! They offer 3 different menus (including the buffet) from the same location, and
other than the buffet, everything takes forever. The servers are slow to come take orders (I think
they assume you will eat at the buffet), and I heard several people around me complain of mixed up
items or incorrect bills. The prices were extremely high, for the quality. The breakfast buffet is
enormous, and food is of decent quality.
