TRAVEL SUMMARY
Business Class : a new Business class product was introduced by Royal Brunei Airlines several years ago,
to create a premium Business class operation. Angled lie flat seats are an improvement on the older Royal Brunei business class
product - a reasonable product let down by poor consistency.
Economy Class : A reasonable economy class product on the basis you find an aircraft with renovated interiors, as there are some
older 767 aircraft with tatty interior standards - old seats, no PTV etc. Staff service is quite good, although
standards are down from service quality levels of 10 years ago.
Inflight Entertainment : On 767 aircraft that offer a re-fitted cabin, IFE standards reasonable. Not aiming to match the
Best Practice, this standard / consistency will hopefully be improved in the next 2-3 years.
Staff Service : Mixed and variable, with service quality levels that have dropped in the last 2-3 years.
The staff service is generally efficient, but can lack sincerity.
BE AWARE : Try to check which aircraft you are getting - the newer product is okay, but beware the old one.
VERDICT : An airline that can hopefully get quality standards back to levels of 10-15 years ago. Operates niche routes, and
the long hauls from Australia can seem longer with the second transit stop in the Middle East. Prices are normally
lower, so its a case of weighing up what you are prepared to pay for higher comfort or
direct service.
